I'm not sure what is worse the standard of refereeing or the standard of defence.

Very poor defence from Catalans, McGuire scores the slowest try I think I've seen for a long time.

Well, danny owed us that he cost us a few! Good turnaround and could turn out to be a valuable win.

His defence was woeful though no getting away from that but fair play he still has that bit of game breaking class in him we all know that.

That he's had a terrible game. He did have a terrible game, unless you happened to only watch it for five seconds.

He did in defence next to an unknown centre partner. But are HB's judged on there defensive work?

After last year and last week and the heavy loss to Cas....many said this team had no character or fight.

Wasn't our best showing by any means but champions pull out wins when they don't look on the cards.

Maybe a bit of credit to the team and the ppl who backed them to cone good?

McGuire wasn't perfect but he scored the crucial try and set up the first not a bad effort all things considered.

Good win there. Though both teams played pretty well, Catalans are always a bit hit and miss but there were times they defended really well on their line.

Sutcliffe played really well i thought, took more control and got himself involved. JJB is still an utter machine, Ward needs consistent game time, Cuthbertson looked dangerous (but i dont think we have the dynamism in the middle to make the most of him) Golding looks absolutely at home at this level and if he can add a support game ala McGuire to his skillset i think he can be a very special player.

Unsurprisingly (considering we were missing Watkins and Hall) we played a very narrow game, worked them down the middle and owned that last twenty minutes against a big strong pack.

Who cares it was 2 points that we didnt deserve but we just had players coming up with a few game breakers (including a great touchline conversion) at the right times

Used to happen all the time under McClennan, not the prettiest win but it shows the team is willing to play till the death and has enough quality to win tight games
