No issue with the squad as a whole having to play today and Thursday, I suppose I'd just have expected McDermott to be slightly more selective with a player such as peacock

| That was a decent offensive result today, having personally had concerns we would be beaten.
Although to be honest there were times in that first half hour of second half when I could have seen kids teams scoring. Wakey went to pieces and we're just awful.
We were not that good for the majority, scored some good tries and like to see us scoring, but much tougher opposition ahead.
Sutcliffe was very good, without actually doing much, silly as it sounds. He just did the right things, but wasn't exactly tested. I have to say Keinhorst looked quite good. Handley still looked suspect defensively, Sinfield was dissapointing, and I am still just not getting it with Yates.

| I think it was down to very little else to choose from hence Yates getting the nod.

With Kylie, JJB, Delaney, Achurch injured and question marks about Mulhearn's fitness McDermott didn't exactly have much choice.

| Gotcha-For me Yates had a decent stint he isn't ever going to be a JP/Cuthbo granted but i thought he did well tbh and certainly wasn't any hinderence.
Sutty was M.O.M for me and Keinhorst went well i would have liked to have seen Lilley on earlier and getting more ball but the team shut down for the last 15 minutes.

He didn't have much choice? Against bottom of the league wakey who have lost 13 consecutive league games?
I know some people billed it as a banana skin, but come on, taking peacock out of the team and maybe starting Yates and another young lad on the bench do you think that would have changed that result? Willie wonka could have played prop yesterday.

| Which "young lad on the bench" could have played instead then? Mulhern is injured. None of the other props in the 19s are ready for SL yet and in some cases may never be. When it comes to props, the four that played yesterday were all that was realistically available.

You must be a popular guy with your drinking buddies, always first up to the bar, due to your glass always being half empty, I assume that's how it works?
We took the points, stay top of SL for now and move on to the next game which will, in all probability, be a sterner test. We have some tougher fixtures to come and therefore, IMO, this was not a "run their blood to water" game (to quote from the sky book of cliches). We took the win, hopefully saved some gas in the legs of the older squad members and will be ready for Cas on Thursday.

I find it hard to believe that Peacock's involvement yesterday is going to make one iota of difference in terms of how our season turns out.

I kind of know what you mean, but last season we lost to both clubs that ended up demoted, at the back end of the season. If I recall we were Londons only win of the season. To a certain extent McDermott can't win with (some) fans on games like these. Play a full on squad and he's missed a chance to rest players and give game time to youth. Play a squad with more youth and giving the likes of Peacock a break and he's not showing the opposition enough respect and if we lose................

It always makes me cringe when people say that [insert humourous person] could have played. The difference between the top and the bottom is not that wide. Its not like Wakey are a pub team. We need to learn to be able to win without Peacock, this is true, but in a game where you are missing up to 4 people who would have come in for him is not the time.

For 30 minutes of that game, Wakefield looked every bit as good as Wigan did the week before. For the rest of it, they looked every bit the pub team you were referring to.
Of course hindsight is a wonderful thing, and with that it would have been better allround had Peacock and Cutherbertson missed the game, and I am sure they would have had we won last week. However, with the situation we found ourselves in, I agree on the point that there really wasn't much choice.

| I take your points on board, I wasn't for one minute saying playing peacock was gonna determine our season clearwig, so I'm not sure what you're getting at there..... It could well effect Thursdays points though,
And with Wigan and saints playing each other it's a very good week to be picking up the two.
When you put 'insert humorous name' eagle, let's be fair its only funny because we haven't seen what's Yates can do, he hasn't had the minutes, yesterday was a perfect opportunity. Big difference to yesterday and when we played London last year, we played way too many kids against London, so having Yates play in a team yesterday that was still relatively strong despite the players we were missing wouldn't have made that much difference, and you never know, peacock could of got some well earned rest and Yates may have turned a few heads in the process, all ifs and buts, but it is something I think would benefitted the team more in the grand scheme of things.
