Quote: Barrie’s Glass Eye "That would require finding a domestic centre though. We don’t want olpherts there and it’s be a big ask of Simpson coming off injury.

Come home Sutty all is forgiven.
Toby King? Yorkshire lad and who knows if Wire actually want to keep him.

Which players were generally making the errors today then?

Quote: Simmo71 "Well that was basically a SL team against a Championship team.
Absolutely clueless.
Hooley really is championship level.
Sinfield is just not ready yet.
Oledski continued his poor form this season. Looks to have gone a bit soft. He needs a rest this off season.
Walters was poor as well.
Newman had a shocker and when we're struggling, he's a liability.
Gannon was completely anonymous and is never a half back in a million years.
I think we are probably looking for a 9, because sadly, neither of them give us any dynamism from DH.
Fusitua probably our best player, but he'll be out injured next week.
As I've kept saying, 9th / 10th in the table is where we deserve to finish.
Please let this season end.....'"

I’d be happy for Leeds to send Oledski and Newman to Wigan.

It may well be time to start looking at the set up but Hetherington isn’t just going to get sacked, that needs far more managing than say sacking a coach or getter rid of players'"

I know he won’t be kicked out on backside as he is on the board but it’s time Caddick stepped in, bought Gh some new golf clubs and said thanks very much, you need to leave the RL
Side and possibly step aside as ceo. He’s about 70 and has overseen consistent failure for a long time now.

What is the deal with King? I thought I saw he wasn’t staying at Wigan, maybe he gets a clean slate back at wire under burgess?

Wasn’t Sinfield brought in to do that but left as he didn’t enjoy it?

Quote: Exeter Rhino "Good to see the usual brainless comments about it all being Smith's fault. Did you really expect Leeds to win with the team we had out?

Look at the amount of salary cap sat in the stands, missing in Australia somewhere, or allowed to leave mid-season to play for other clubs. There are questions about management at the club but I fail to see how they can all be laid at the door of the head coach.

By the way, we played the top team in the league today who put in a big performance over 80 minutes.

Let's just say we sack Smith now. Whoever comes into replace him will have his hands tied for the next few years on contracts and the playing roster. It just doesn't make sense to remove him at all. This isn't soccer you know.'"

It’s the manner of the defeat that’s the issue not the defeat. That was simply unacceptable for a Leeds team regardless of injuries etc. that team we had out should not get beat 50-0 at home. Disgusting

He was but has gone and GH is even more out of touch and needs to go again for good.

Having a 70 year old CEO means a business should be thinking about succession planning but even if we haven’t it’s a 10-12 million pound business it’s not that complicated to run. Oates does the corporate stuff, there is a failing hotel and the rugby side to make good decisions on.

If GH was taken seriously ill tomorrow, someone would come
In and run it.
Look at the majority of the people running the RFL and other clubs, many are not impressive.
I’m sure caddick will have an executive in business who could
Run it easily. The key is also getting an good rugby man in.

I’ve got no issues with GH moving aside but it’s got yo be a managed process with someone so important to the club.

I don’t get where the penny pinching comments come from? Don’t we usually spend up to the cap?

Our squad at the start of the season probably wasn't good enough to challenge at the top of the table, but it was better than the rubbish we have served up this season. Would a different coach have got better performances out of this squad? I believe so.
The end of our play off chances isn't down to today's performance . It is due to our half arssed start to the season, which never truly got going.

We’ve git spanked today because we don’t have a first grade half back and our side is sloppy, disorganised and error-prone. We constantly put ourselves under pressure unnecessarily and fail to make the other side work. In the heat of today we got gassed and then the floodgates open.

Well that was fun!
Only Fusitua and McDonnell earning a 5/10 with others scoring much less for me.
No structure, weak tackling and no planned moves.
Like I said on another topic we need at least half a dozen new signings with at least 3 of quality otherwise we will not make next years play offs again.
We are saying Smith inherited the bulk of this seasons squad and it will take time for him to get it right.
Out of interest what was the squad like last year when we made the GF compared to this year (ins and outs)?
Was our squad so much better last year compared to this?
