| Quote: christopher "You’re missing the point, no rhinos fan will be happy with our league position or how the team is performing.
I said before the season started that we as fans will have to be patient this was never a quick turnaround job. The club have said so, sacking Furner 11 games in will achieve nothing, bar the top few sides the table is very close and it’s difficult predicting who will beat who we could end up mid table in a few games time, I still believe we can put a run of performances together.'"
In all seriousness I do agree it's going to take time but I'm extremely concerned we are in real danger of relegation.

Come back in 10 games if we are bottom 2 then I will agree with you, were not half way through season and a lot can happen

If I was short sighted I could become a referee!: |

| Surely Furner us responsible for the overseas recruitment . Both Lolohea and Merin look overweight unfit and slow. In addition Lolohea can't catch can't pass and can't tackle Three attributes that are reasonably essential in the game. On Monday he dropped a simple up and under without being challenged.( Luckily he got away with it because of an offside player ) passed the ball in to touch 3 times sent an awful pass to his winger that was uncatchable and resulted in Kershaw scoring the first try and was swotted off like a tiny fly by a Leeds reject when any decent fullback would have bundled BJB in to touch. So he effectively gave away 10 points that would have otherwise resulted in a victory for the Rhinos. .. and don't say but he scored at the end because Wakefield knew the hooter was about to blow and let him score .

I’m not sure you can blame Sinfield or Furner for signing Tui, he signed before they did.
Merrin does not look overweight, that is his physique, the two Marquee signings have been our best players.

| I do hate this 'if this had happened then we would be X points better off'. The game is full of tiny mistakes here and there. You can't pin point an exact moment a game was won or lost.
It's a full squad game these days.

| I really don’t think removing Furner will make any difference, the guy has only just got here and we’ve seen how we’ve improved with the ball in a relatively short time. What needs to happen is that the players need to step up, once they have crossed the white line any coach has a limited impact.
It’s not like Furner has the luxury of dropping many people for poor performances either as the quality in the team (never mind the squad) is poor overall so taking people out could also make the situation worse.
The squad of players is seriously restricting the hands of the coach.

| Putting aside the wakey game, for five tackles out of every six I'd say we have. But it's that 6th one that's too often the problem.

We have improved with the ball. However, I am not sure it is such a positive. We have changed the way we play, but think that is more down to the players available to him. We don’t have the forwards for playing through the middle for ground, so have to attack differently.
The problem for Furner though, is that he is still trying to polish a turd.

Agreed.
Those calling for Furner to be sacked - realistically, which players do you think he should be getting to play better?
Can you also explain how a new coach can make a difference with the same squad at his disposal?

Apart form his poor skill on Monday Lolohea was so slow he could not catch the Number 1 to Holt Park never mind BJB.
When he does have the ball he would win awards for the most sideways movement.
Patently he is not fit enough, he should be left out until fit.
Walker or Golding at full back is a better bet.

Maybe get Bielsa in to show them how.

| As an outsider I don't think Furner is the problem as such. When McDermott left didn't he mutter something about if you think its bad now? Reading between the lines which is all I can do what he was saying is that the club as a whole has lost its way with too many people doing jobs they are not equipped to do or alternatively an old boys network has developed.
Happens all the time after clubs have a glory period, happened to Wigan post Linsey to a degree. Happened twice at Man U and at Liverpool to name just a few.
I don't know why because as noted history proves otherwise but these clubs fall back on ex-players from the glory years somehow believing the magic will rub off. It doesn't because it can't Kevin Sinfield is your most obvious example. He was a great player and in time may become a great administrator but for now he's utterly out of his depth. Worse still he's a one club man and thus probably only knows one way and when that way isn't working he simply has no plan B.
Sometimes a new brush and one that simply cannot be argued with, a coach who can change the culture. This sadly can't be done with someone like Sinfield and Peacock (is he back with you?) who are inexperienced and trying to make their names, certainly not if they are involved in the recruitment and sit alongside the Coach in the management structure, its simply a personality clash in the making.
Leeds will need to splash the cash on an unimpeachable Coach who is answerable only to the CEO and sadly he will almost certainly need to be an Aussie. Thats how I see it, please excuse me if I've got Sinfield's and others position in this all wrong.
