I think they’re doing it to allow an organised defence from the scrum but it robs all the pressure.

On to HKR next week, and if we were to win that there’s a good chance we will come off the bottom.
ALAW...'"
There aren’t many points separating up to 6th or so in the table if we can string a few wins together.
We really need to be beating rival sides for that bottom spot though, no more London’s.

| At that time in the game they should be keeping the ball on the field turning them around and trying to win the energy battle. Nothing worse for a team than bringing it off your line time and again but this tactic just releases all that.

Not something Powell's team would know anything about .

| Ok so biggest thing there is relief. We badly needed that one, against a not-classic Cas side.
I thought the knock-on call against Kal in the first half was terrible - he had it knocked out of his hands by the Cas player, the ball did NOT leave his hand and then touch the opposition, constituting a knock on. FFS.
On Watkins, worried about his pace now because there’s no way he gets caught from behind two or three years back.
Walker I thought was outstanding.
Dwyer I think has been having a great season so far, even drop goal aside.
Our kicking game is awful. Cas absolutely mullered us in that department.
Oledski put a massive stint in with defence tonight; heavy work in the middle too; he’s also been good this year.
Holroyd when fit does not look out of place at 18 as a prop which is freaky.
Hurrell was brilliant in the first half and then we stopped creating space for him in the second. We have to keep him involved.
Great scenes at the end and all those posters saying the players are this and that - look we need some more quality in that squad, but it annoys me when people doubt the commitment and effort from the lads. Furner was brill too.

| Oh Jesus why can’t they get Myler playing like that every week. Looked as good as any half back tonight, simply superb. As for the Walker knockers, a massive LOL, simply brilliant. Merrin and Dwyer, brilliant. Thought Singleton went well too.
What a difference without Ferres, and some said we would miss his defence. What the hell, far better defence without him.
Thought Sutcliffe pretty poor, but is it because of him Myler so much better.

| Myler was great in many areas especially his energy and looking to get his hands on the ball. Kicking though again was awful and that's a huge indicator and influence on where the team have been this year so far.

| A win in that manner is just what this team needed IMO, yes we dropped off in a calamitous 20minute spell again but, they got through it and it will give them confidence, remember this is our monkey on the back team, we haven’t beaten them for is it 11 straight league games.
Thhought the Watkins knock on was an absolute joke if im honest but hey ho.
Walker was the best player on the pitch and I was chuffed for Merrin to get over and start patting the badge. Hurrell is a real entertaining machine and even with his customary error I’m glad we signed him.
On another note Im glad mcshane ballesd it up for them because he shouldn’t have been on the field
It wasn’t perfect by any stretch but I’ll take the 2 points.
Edited to add chuffed for Furner aswell that meant a lot to him

McDermott after the Toronto game last week said “aslong as youre not telling me were 11th, thats ok” with a wry smile.
Unfortunately, were in this position, and this leaves us open to “catty comments”. Weve just got to lump it. Its not nice but, so be it. As the great D-ream once said, “Thiiiiinnngggs can only get betttttteeerrrrrr”.

I really don’t think you can draw from that game that Ferres being absent was the reason our defence was better. I think it shows we might be a better side without him in it.
We did look better organised in D; was more pleased with Sutcliffe and Smith in defence tonight, both good.
Leeds are such a frustrating side to watch. 20-4 up we should be doing a Saints on them and pushing on, but no we have to find a way to brain fart when we get in control, and try to throw the game away. We simply cannot defend more than 1 or 2 sets near our own line.
Another plus though for me is the age of lads there that beat Cas: Holroyd, Oledski, Walker, Smith all 20 and under and all contributed well. Give those boys another 4 years at this level and they’ll be fantastic for us.

| Thought Cameron Smith played himself into the starting spot.
A good point has just been made we are quite a young side, Oledski, Walker, Handley, Smith and now Holroyd all playing well, if we can tough this season out the future is bright if they kick on

I'm really concerned about Watkins and really gutted as he was a superstar before his injury.. is it just fitness do we think or is it more concerning.... will he be the same again?

| Massive win even though we did our best to bugger it up 2nd half.
I thought Walker was outstanding as were Hurrell Dwyer & tbh from 1-17 they put a shift in.
Singleton took Ferres' dumb penalties mantle tonight 2 stupid ones leading to trys & giving them momentum but how one sided was Thaler again?
How was Mcshanes elbow in Mylers face not even a yellow card or the 3 blatant ball strips given as knick ons?
I still maintain we are desperate for quality adding & i still fail to see what Lowes offers on ths staff.
However a huge win that hopefully will give us confidence to go on a winning run.0
