| Looking forward to the Middle 8s now. At least they'll be competitive games. Sky must be well ed off that the Super 8s are pretty much meaningless for the bottom 4 teams. Watched Fax v Toulouse today. Quality was poor but an exciting game nonetheless.

We've had a dire season no question about it. I guess you deserve a little gloat, after all you follow a club that hasn't done anything of note in 50 years. Enjoy your "success", IF you get to OT, I'll shout for you. If not and you want to see some silver ware, pop along to HQ there's a very big cabinet with lots of trophies in it.

Ignore the bloke he’s an utter tool. That said the idea that teams deliberately played badly to keep Leeds down is beyond ludicrous.
Truth is you’ll walk the middle 8,s and next season you’ll probably be right back up there.

| Anyone who thinks Cas and Hull lost on purpose doesn't quite grasp there is another 7 league games to go. Why would Cas who's focus must be on gaining a home semi so to throw a game makes no sense.
On top of that the theory they threw a game because they was worried about us scraping into 8th spot surely proves that these people haven't watched Leeds in the last 4 months. Believe me we are no threat to Cas' position at the moment.
We're in middle 8s on merit, we deserve no better and the teams above us deserve to be secure.
Personally I'm looking forward to seeing Toronto come to The Emerald and a possible/probable mini break in Toulouse will do me just fine before a trip to America later in the year.
I hope Halifax make it too as it's been too long since we played there.

| Assuming we survive, being in the Middle 8s will hopefully concentrate minds (GH especially) on the need to strengthen the squad. The main focus has to be a big refresh of the pack. We can't go on signing project players and NRL numpties if we want to get back to the top.

Both clubs play to the same salary cap, there won’t be too much between what the two clubs spend on players. You enjoy 6th place, that’s as good as it’ll get for you.

| With our current squad 6th would be an achievement. That's been made patently obvious by the results since Sinfield took over - hammered by a top 4 wannabee team, struggled to a draw against a mid table team and then beat the cellar dwellers. The only players missing who are real quality over those games would be Ward and Watkins. They'd make us better, but not enough to close the gap on Cas.
Whilst I wouldn't want us to be in the Middle 8s, to think that with largely the same squad we'll contend for silverware is nuts IMO. Not to say BM did a lot to turn things round, but it would be very interesting to find out if he was banging on GH's door to seek cash for new players.

Spot on. We are a little bit short of the top 4 as things stand even with a fully fit squad. Be interesting to see what happens when Parcell decides he is going back to the NRL, he will be a huge loss. I would like to take Warrington as an example that i hope we follow. A successful squad that had gone past its sell by date with coaches and certain players but they finally pulled the trigger and moved in a new direction. The new coach has been backed with a few new quality faces and some players who were looking done got a new lease of life and suddenly after just 1 year things look real positive for them.
So it can be done, over to you GH.

| Quote Towns88="Towns88"Neither cas or hull lost on purpose you complete and utter moron. Our loss could in the end cost us a home semi, Hull now have zero chance of top 4 but as Radford said, he gambled bringing 4 back. Did wigan lose to Huddersfield on purpose last week ? Maybe focus on your own sides defeats to widnes, Catalan twice, failing to beat wakefield at home, failing to be Huddersfield twice, not to mention your own capitulations this season.'"
i know exactly why we have ended up were we area. still other clubs seem to have delighted in the fact we are where we are, and Hull performance yesterday was a complete joke if that inst bending over then what is. and Cas on Friday was not far of either.

the consensus was it was the other way round, Gh wanted to strengthen and had players lined up, but MCD wanted to go with what we had and stick with payers well past his sell by date.
