| Quote: Old Feller "We mustn't forget that HKR have beaten both Wigan & Warrington to get to the final. Both teams that have beaten us well this year so they've shown that they know how to beat top teams in one-off games.
They will be highly motivated (Millar time again?) & I suspect it could be much harder than some on here believe.
I'm starting to get nervous already.'"
We've also beaten top teams in Saints and Hudds, and in good style. Whilst we did lose to Warrington earlier in the year, the week after the cup semi we battered them. I also think Wigan probably looked past HKR which we won't given its the final. People point out HKR's good showings in the cup this year, but our cup showings have been just as (if not more) impressive.
Two factors for me
- last 8 Cup games stretching back to the start of the 2014 campaign. Leeds haven't conceded more than 16 points in any of those games. Our defence hasn't covered itself in glory at times during the league campaign but it's stepped up come cup time just like HKR's.
- we've played 29 games this year and scored 24 points or more in 26 of those. The only 3 were the losses to Warrington and the Magic game vs Wigan. Whilst HKR have defended really well in those cup wins I don't think they have that particular style of defence in them that Wigan use to get in our faces and rattle us.
I'll go Leeds 34 HKR 14
Watkins MOM with a couple of tries.

| The current forecast for Saturday looking pretty good, not much likelihood of rain (20%) with temperatures in the range 19-23 degC, light wind from the SE.
Should be ideal rugby playing & watching weather.
To all of you going, enjoy the game & have a great weekend or day.

| In our cup games this year we've averaged 32 points for an 21.5 against. Our defence hasn't actually been that great in the cup, Wigan aside. I know both games against Wire and Wigan were in the wet but as wet games tend to be more of a slog down the middle, I'm not sure that plays into our hands very much at all. When we came to Headingley we caused Leeds real problems spreading the ball wide. If we can do the same on a big Wembley pitch and Leeds offence doesn't quite fire you just never know. I'm not going down expecting to win but I don't subscribe to the view that we should be 'praying for heavy rain'.

| Are these Oyster Cards actually any good?
I've always just bought a Travel card 1 day off-peak for £12 but couple of people at work have mentioned getting an Oyster Card.

There's no need to bother with either Oyster or Travelcards any more. Just scan in and out with your bankcard and if you get up to the amount of the Travelcard cost it'll cap, if you don't you'll only have paid for the journeys you made.

Don't have one of the new Bankcards unfortunately! Mine doesn't run out until next year.

Yes, they are great. They charge per journey until you hit the amount that a travel card would cost, them that amount takes over.
If you have a disabled rail card, you get 33% off the cost as well.
Talking about travelling to Wembley, after going to The Hive in Brentford last season, I'm surprised more people don't take advantage of their parking. It was so easy to get from there to Wembley, and you are going against most of the traffic on the train following the game.

| Replay if needed to be at Huddersfield on Tuesday the 8th of September.
We play Saints on Friday the 4th
And Catalans away on Saturday the 12th
Pray it doesn't end up a draw then.

For your first use it might be borderline (depending on how many journeys you do and from where to where) as you have to pay a fiver deposit for the card, but after that Oyster is way cheaper than getting a paper ticket.

I'd forgotten the deposit, it's so long since I got my first one. With regards to that, people thinking of using them should also know that any money loaded up and not used stays on the card till you next visit that there London, so it's never wasted, unless you lose the card, of course.

The deposit is offset somewhat by the fact that the daily cap is 8quid whereas a day travel card is something like 12.
Important tip tho...*always* make sure you swipe in and out (easy to miss post match when barriers may be open. If not you'll get overcharged (happened to the Mrs after a gig in London, fortunately we noticed the next day that her balance was like £5 less than mine and a friendly TFL chap corrected it)

Guys, you don't need an Oyster Card any more if you have a contact-less debit (or credit) card. You can just use your contact-less debit card straight onto the Oyster Card sensor and it gives you exactly the same rates and charges as Oyster. So this is great for infrequent visitors because you don't have money sitting on the Oyster Card. I understand that it debits the card the following day, after the final days journeys are all known, so they only ever charge you the best possible price.
See here for full details - rlhttps://tfl.gov.uk/fares-and-payments/contactlessrl
