As he still works for the Penrith club, of all the Aussie media, I'd say he was most reliable source for anything related to player movements from Penrith.



Although he played on the wing for Queensland in SOO (and was excellent), he has played all his club rugby the past couple of years at centre - and has been very good. Brilliant defensively, and a real threat in attack. He's 30 now, so still plenty in the tank!

The only problems with Brent Tate are:

1) He's really a winger playing centre. He bombed a certain try in the Manly game last week by not passing (he didn't even look), although he can when he wants to. His strength is his running.

2) He's a right-sided player, which would mean Watkins would have to move to accommodate him.

3) He's 30 with a dreadful injury record. "Still plenty left in the tank" is pushing it a bit, especially since his game relies almost entirely on speed and power - unlike Jamie Lyon. Any comparisons to Lyon as a centre are ridiculous. Lyon has looked the classiest centre in the NRL this year by far. Tate has looked nothing like as good as often.

IMO Tate would indeed be a 'big name' signing, but we need a LEFT centre if anything. Not a left wing who can play there, or a right-sided player.

Blake Ayshford looks to be on his way from Wests also. Not sure whats going on there.


Last year he looked terrific. This year he's played all over the place and not looked half the player he looked like he was going to be.

Tate would still be great in SL. However, I'm not convinced we are bothering with a centre yet

Why would Leeds....okay GH even consider brining in an Aussie who wants to go home as he is home sick and not take the option to develop keinhorst over next season...seems an odd one on that account as well as Leeds' history of developing local Leeds youngsters. I expect that a transfer fee and Moon's salary expectation will put brakes on this as leeds don't need a unhappy player taking a decent chunk of cash.

To name would require me knowing that name. As I have said all along I do not know a name, why would I make one up to suit desperate fans?

Yes because Leeds have never signed a player on a 3 yr deal who has gone home with homesickness!!!!
Also does it mention homesickness, I thought it was to go home for career wise?

That said don't disagree regarding keinhorst. Wouldn't be too dissapointed if he got the shirt and we spent the money sorting our pack out
