According to the RFL investigation into the initial skirmish with Yeaman, Tomkins was pushed twice and had a punch aimed at him before he retaliated. Some would argue he showed remarkable restraint in that instance.

No matter how often you refer to it as an elbow won't alter the fact the the Disciplinary panel quite rightly decided there was no elbow involved. Carry on though with the reference if you think basing your case on a poor decision by the match officials supports your position.

I asked for evidence of your claim that Tomkins had 'earned a reputation for violence.' Without you can break down those overall figures they prove nothing unless in your view all penalties are as a result of violence? The vast majority of penalties it appears from my analysis of the modern game result from technical infringements. For example Leeds on Saturday conceded six penalties and only one of those was as a result of what you'd call foul play (high tackle by Peacock) while the other five were from technical problems.

Eh? Not according to this that appears to show Tomkins J received no yellow cards during the SL regular rounds

The kick out at McGuire (is that the one) was petulent rather than violent and while a poor decision on his part hardly deserving of a send-off. Why presume to speak for anyone other than yourself. You think they have a nasty side to their game, fair enough. You're entitled to that opinion but as they are professional rugby league players (rather than seeking to enter a monastery) I don't see it altogether as a negative. Billy Slater can be a nasty little fooker but it doesn't prevent him being one of the best players on the planet.

The ref/touch judge decided it was an elbow. It wasn't.

And that differed from Ben Cross on Daryl Clark in which way?

If you thought Tomkins deserved a Red card and subsequent ban (I didn't), I'm at a loss to see why you seek to defend Cross, Silverwood and the disciplinary panel in not beinmg consistent dealing with the Leeds player committing very similar offence.
