| I guess from the deafening silence that none of the proceeds are going to charity.
I think that the club has missed a trick here.

Harsh but fair assement there dear brother.
Well done.

I see what you're saying, but I'm not sure where the assumption that everything pink should mean a donation to charity has come from. It's an away shirt like any other, none of which have benefited a charity in the past as far as I'm aware.

I made my post as a result of the comment in the following article by Rob Oates:
www.therhinos.co.uk/news/15716.php
In it he states that the club produced a limited edition pink edition shirt that proved to be very poular with fans so they decided after consulting the team that the new away shirt should be pink
IMV the reason it was so popular was because of the fact that a donation from each shirt sold went to a cancer charity to honour John Holmes.
I don't think that everything pink should result in part of the cost going to charity. In this instance, however, I think it would be appropriate & would result in increased sales for the club as well as portraying it in a very positive light.

It was a great gesture last year, there's no doubt about that. But I think the shirt sold on it's own merits to be honest, it was a nice shirt. If this seasons away shirt was amber again then the issue wouldn't have even come up.

People (and by that I mean "Joe Public". I'm more than aware there's many exceptions) tend to have 2 major financial outlays... Christmas & a Summer Holiday.
Nobody is thinking... "Best watch the pennies for Christmas" or "Best save up some spending money" in January.
The third Monday of January is known as "Blue Monday". It's supposed to be the most depressing day of the year. Something to do with people having broken NY Resolutions, Weather, Time since a payday (assuming it's longer than usual if paid early for Christmas), distance to the next Bank Holiday (which at that point is like the end of March!), Debt, Dark Nights (known as "seasonal affective disorder"icon_wink.gif anyway... Blue Monday...
People tend to get over this (despite one of the factors being Debt!!!) by spending cash. Even if it involves you going into more debt, buying things cheers you up.
By the way, none of that is meant to be specific to Rugby League or Away Kits. I'm just backing up bewildered's "as daft as it sounds people spend money in January" comment.'"
hows the away shirt sales going lol

| Strange as it may seem some supporters are aware that the club releases a new away shirt each year in January & plan to save (or not spend) some money so that they can buy one when they come out.
Others of us (Wheels, G1 etc) are so wealthy that we can afford to buy one regardless of spending over the Christmas & New Year period.

| I bought both shirts last weekend - the away shirt is rather slimming for those of us with a fuller figure so I guess that's the one that'll be getting the most use.
