Something's gone badly awry at Hull. They are a much better team than that. Maybe Smith won't last very long, as he certainly doesn't seem to have the team playing for him.

They need a complete reset. The priority for them has to be avoiding relegation, anything more would be a bonus. Then they can release all their off contract players and begin the rebuild

I wouldn't be surprised if Tony is upsetting quite a few players, and they should be upset. Hull's attitude has been horrible for a while now - some of the scorelines against them are frankly a disgrace (including last season). That's down to effort as on paper they look like a reasonable team. Dwyer and Sutcliffe didn't have a great track record at Leeds in terms of leading from the front either. Actually Dwyer tried, but his one-man show became a big part of the problem. There's a decent player in there if only he concentrated on passing. A few games last year his passing was better and he wasn't running as much, but just when you thought he'd turned a corner he'd revert to type.

Yet they still beat us at Headingley

And yet, for all Dwyer's faults, Smith doesn't appear yet to have figured a way to win those dreadful tight and scrappy games which he managed to clinch from time to time.
