Obvs major link would be to Warrington but RL is a strange world.'"
No chance him coming backi wouldnt have thought. He could end up in Union but Wire seems most obvious.

| Quote: Swoggy Loiner "I honestly don’t get this 'super coach' mentality when it comes to Cas and DP. Don’t get me wrong, he’s done well with the limited resources he’s had at the club, but a messiah he isn’t. To me, you judge a coach on what they have won. A LLS and losing every final you’ve ever coached in, isn’t exactly a massive achievement is it?
Maybe it’s just me.'"
A mate of mine is a Fev fan. When DP left to go to Cas he wasn't overly disappointed. His thoughts were that he can build a good team, play good rugby, but misses the ability to finish it off with silverware. It's followed that course at Cas. Be interesting to see where he ends up. If it is Wire, they need a coach to win things. As we know from experience, there's a skill to coaching a team to win trophies

| I think he is a fine coach and clearly improves players. My problem with him is that he is such a sourpuss. When Cas lose it's always somebody else's fault, normally the referee. Find his serial whining tedious.

| A few seasons ago he would have been my first choice but not now that ship as sailed.I think losing the Grand Final hit him hard. From then he seem to change from what i saw as quite a happy and confident coach to miserable moaning one blaming referees after defeats. If he goes to Wire then he will have a decent squad and resources. He showed he can coach a team to play a very exciting brand of rugby. He may even start to look like he's enjoying the job again.

| Interested to see how he fares if he does end up with wire. Proper hot seat which should give a true reflection of his ability or lack of

I wouldnt say Wire job was a hot seat i would say its one of the best jobs in the game. Tony Smith and Price have had time in the job, theres plenty of money spent, the owner seems very supportive.

| Powell will go well at Wire and take them within 2 seasons to their Holy Grail , he is a fantastic coach and improves players to a great extent , what he did with Cas was nothing short of exeptional . I just wish he would cheer up a bit and realise how lucky he is to be doing the job he does .

Fair enough if you’ve heard that, think he’s a very good coach but surprised as the Wire have not been champions in 65 years and counting and Powell has never won anything.
Perhaps they will get there together. With a well funded set up and only a handful of real competitors it’s got to happen sometime.
Think they were unlucky not to win one under Tony Smith.

In all fairness they should have won at least 2 GF's by now in 2012 and 2013
