| Replacing Peacock is virtually impossible. Be interesting to see how Leeds run without him in time to come. JP is immense and you probably wont appreciate what he does week in week out until you don't have that week in week out.

| Quote Gotcha="Gotcha"What can Manakafoa offer that we won't get from Baldwinson and possibly Mulhern? He's not very good. Would much rather have Kylie for another year than go there.
Yates is completely unproven, not a very good player, and one who I still don't think will ever make a Rhinos side. So have no idea why you say once he is fit, Bailey should be out. Bailey has his faults, and for me can leave also, but if you are going to put poop in his place, then we might aswell stay with the devil we know.'"
1. I only offered up Manakafoa as an example, however you could replace that with Scruton, D. Smith etc it is a viable shorterm option, however
2. Did you watch the Bulls play the Catalans? If you did then you would have seen that Manakafoa offered far more go forward than Baldwinson agaginst a solid pack
3. Yates is poop yet you have not seen him play in a Leeds shirt yet
4. Bailey's poop but lets keep him because he's poop that we know. real solid argument.
Having watched Bailey for 10 years I'd rather get rid and have a kid in the squad than see him steal a wage for another year.

| I maybe in the minority, however, I'm not sure I'd be fully onboard with Kylie signing for 2015. I love what he has brought and this year he has been immense - so much so that to replace him and JP after 2015 would be doubly difficult.
Running next year with:
JP
Singleton
Cuthbertson
Kirke/Bailey (I'd probably retain one of them)
Baldwinson
Mulhern
Yates
would look OK to me. By the end of next year whether we need to sign another frontline prop or whether Cuthbertson can lead the pack and the others have kicked on enough should be clearer.
I've supported Bailey over the years and always thought his defence and ability to land on his front and play the ball quickly were key attributes. His level of play has dropped recently though and it's impossible to ignore the off field rumours.
Kirke on the other hand offers similar qualities (never as much potential but has their output recently been very different) with few of the downsides. He seems to be a popular and reliable member of the squad. Go on, I'll say it I actually like him - he's made the best of far less ability than many forwards we've seen at Leeds.
In reference to his low carries I'll throw this out there. If he plays 30 minutes and we have 12 sets in that time how many carries is he likely to get. 5 per set; at least 2 usually taken by backs, sometimes more. Split the maximum of 36 forward carries (and this is probably high) between the 2 props and 3 back rowers on the field (about 7 each). Is 4 too low - yes. Is he overly lazy? No, I'm not sure he is. JP is a freak and Kylie is hungry for the ball in his relatively short stints. Is Kirke expected to play the same role and should we expect him to?
I'm not saying he'd be in my 17 each week but I'm perfectly happy with him around the squad. I don't think he is blocking anyone's progress right now. I love the way SInglton has been progressed over the last 2 years and not just thrown in, and I think we are seeing the benefits of that now. If Baldwinson and/or Mulhern can follow similar paths that would be great.

| Andy, don't look at Kirke's carries as a maths equation. Focus on him whilst he's on the pitch. Watch his movement. He's actually a genius at avoiding the ball. I think if you watch him closely you'll change your view on him.
Nobody who ever sets foot on a rugby pitch is a coward but there are degrees of bottle that players possess.

I have been on the Headingley pitch a couple of times. I'm definitely a coward.

McGuire hints 2015 will be last year for JP AND KYLIE.

I would imagine Adam (Cuthbertson) is being lined up as a long-term replacement for JP and Kylie, who are likely to retire at the same time at the end of next season.

We're going over old ground here. I have watched him. I like the way he controls the speed of the ruck defensively - he does a fair bit of dirty work there. I wish he would run with the intensity we have seen glimpses of in the last couple of years more often. But he doesn't and while he's doing the other bits of his job so effectively and there are many willing volunteers to carry the ball I'm happy for him to be in and around the squad. He won't be on megabucks and he hasn't (contrary to what people will have you believe) stalled the progress of Singleton.
I also don't see him as above criticism. He defended poorly for a few weeks halfway through last year and I criticised him a lot (perhaps not on here). I don't disagree that he could do more with the ball, but as a 4th / 5th prop I think he's a good enough player.

That's an entirely fair comment. I disagree with it entirely but, like you say, no point going over old ground.

| Quote rollin thunder="rollin thunder"When amor did play at Leeds he was poop that's why we shipped him out'"
This is the most invalid argument I’ve seen with regards to resigning Amor – I agree, he was pap for the few occasions he played in our first team, but the potential was there. He would have had to have a bucket load of potential to even make it anywhere near the first team.
So we shipped him out on loan, like we have done with numerous other youngsters… and guess what? He got good. The difference with Amor was that we gave him the option to either return as a second string prop or stay at Wakefield as a starting prop. Kyle chose the latter.
What we should have done is simply recall him – mistakes were made with Amor but to say he was shizzer, that’s why we got rid is wrong.

This plus GH saying Cuthbertson would be replacing BJB in the 25 man squad (and not Leuluai) makes it seem quite certain that Kylie will be playing on another year.
