This rumour just wont go away will it?

I do find it a little odd that GH would want to sign a replacement for a perfectly good winger though. BJB (IMO of course) would be one of the top 5 or 6 wingers in the league. Replacing him with a better, but only marginally better, player doesn’t make that much sense.

It could be purely a financial decision though – Briscoe is a free agent and therefore no signing fee and as BJB is still in contract we can get a few quid for him but this would seem a little harsh on young Ben.

It could be that BJB wants out, it wont be the first time that we’ve lost a winger because they got offered a better deal elsewhere – Calderwood anyone?

It’s not like we need a new winger as a priority is it, in fact I’d say it would be the lowest priority position in need of strengthening at Leeds. This is why I honestly believe that there is much more to this rumour than meets the eye.

totally agree. whilst briscoe is an upgrade on BJB as one renowned poster described buderus as a luxury this really is a luxury.

the front row is ponderous and aging rapidly and the need for a class hooker is a must.

no problem with briscoe signing but other areas need changing far sooner

I still wonder if BJB will be dropping to FB, Hardaker to the halves, burrow to permanent hooker and Sinfield back to loose

I think Hardaker wants to play in the halves. I think he has the ability in him and do we start moulding him now as a replacement for Mags as he isn't getting any younger.

Can't see that mate not with the emergance of Sutcliffe and eventual return of Ward.
Again i completely agree with Tad re-signings etc but thinking back once or twice this year Bjb has re-iterated his desire to play FB plus IF it is Wire he's departing to im sure it will be a good ££ offer for him.

I've always thought that Zac look more like a half than a full back, and IIRC didn't BJB come through the academy as a full back?

Hardaker started as a halfback in his amateur days.he played at 6 in his first game for Leeds in the u20's and looked very good.

Darryl Powell always said he thought he'd (Zac) would end up at 6.
For me though i think he could play there but eventually i'd like to see Sutty at 6 with Ward at 13.
P.S-Yes Tad you did mention Hardaker on tuesday night.

I think people have gone way over the top on Sutcliffe. Done ok the lad and doing his job. But no way is our long term stand off, said for months that will be Lilley. Not even sure Sutcliffe will be long term full stop. He's not in the class of Ward before him.

Gotcha-I'm not going to get into a t!t for tat name calling exchange but yer way off and not least writing him off way too early.
Firstly he hasn't been given the "full" 6 role as yet i.e required to control our kicking game and create/give quick ball out wide which i can understand the Coach not asking him to run the show straight away.
We've seen just a small glimpse of thim thus far plus recently he's been coming on and used as a BR out wide which again is not his game.
Also re-Lilley he too can cover 6/13 and whilst i think he has the potential to make it also he's still way imo 2/3yrs away but of course that could change.

lilley is 16. long way to go yet. can be outstanding at that age and drop away.
he was outstanding on tuesday but lets see what time does.

sutcliffe has been very good so far. these games will give him great experience. got high hopes for the young man. wouldn't surprise me if he ends up at 13 although i think he has the hands to make a top class centre

There is no t!t for tat, or writing him off for that matter, I said he was doing an ok job, which he is. I just said, no way will he be our long term stand off.

I don't think Lilley will be 2/3 years, but even at that, is that not well within long term? I mean McGuire could well still be playing in 2 years.

I would love to see Sutty have a run at as he looks very dangerous and hard to handle whilst running out wide

I'd agree with tad on signing Briscoe. He's a quality player - and I think we might well see him in top form again wherever he ends up next year, once his future is sorted. But wing just isn't an area we need to strengthen particularly urgently, unless BJB has expressed a desire to leave, which would change things.

On Hardaker, he might well make a 6, but he's looking so good at 1 at the moment it'd seem a shame to move him.

Sutcliffe has really impressed me. Lot of work to do. I think he might well end up in the pack or centre, depending what happens to his speed when he fills out (which he looks like he still will).
