| Quote ThePrinter="ThePrinter"To level the argument up I'd also say the penalty given which Sinfield kicked to make it 8-6 was ridiculously soft. That 2 points proved crucial as the 8 point gap at the end instead of a 6 point gap made Wire head drop for the final 5 mins.'"
The reason he gave for the pen is ridiculous but watch Morleys tackle on watkins again its a blatant high shot and he pulls him down by his suede so that like many others should have been given.
We could pick apart ANY performance by Silverw##k he just isn't up to it but whilst Cummings is in charge that will never change and as tad says he was p!$h for both teams but more so us as he was at Wigan.

| I thought the penalty he gave us was correct actually. A bit unlucky on Harrison's (I think) part, but he didn't clear the ruck enough to allow Watkins to play the ball. I can see why Silverwood gave it for the knee as well, as there is a slight movement of the knee forward toward Watkins which knocks his ball carrying arm as he is attempting to play the ball. I don't think it was a deliberate movement but then Harrison should have cleared the ruck better.

And we cry out for consistency and he did give a penalty for the same thing in the game against Wigan

| Pretty sure the rule states that you can't take part in that passage of play if you are offside at the PTB. One of those contradictory rules because if your team kick ahead, you can be involved - giving them 10, kicker going ahead of you etc. If your team keep the ball in hand, you remain offside until the next tackle
Agree the Myler "facial" to Zak was also a major stuff up by Silverwood
Good job we won and made all of this irrelevant
Bet Silverwood gets the WCC tho so we'd beat be well prepared

| Look lads; there's almost certainly a thread (cba to check) about why Silverwood 's decisions cost Wire the GF. At least you came out with the trophy.
As the SL season has finished, I've reverted to watching my local amateur side (Crosfields).
In the past three games I have seen a 2 trys disallowed because the ref decided it was scrum attack due to a knock-on by the opposition (and no 2nd knock on anywhere by attackingh team), a try given on the 8th tackle (with the ref confirming there was definitely no 'back to 6' during the set), and a player penalised for 'not playing the ball correctly' whilst he was actually suspended about a foot off the ground by an opposition forward ......... add this to the conversions given/not given because the ref couldn't tell (!) and a total disregard for offside by all teams on whichever is the refs blindside at the play of the ball, and believe me, SL refs aren't as bad as we might think.
I'd love to see a televised game ref'd by one of our lower league amateur refs ..... the Sky knobs would have heart-attacks during replays!

I totally agree - it was a bit of a soft penalty but what option did Silverwood have really? The ball came lose at the PTB through no fault of the attacking player - it would have been either a knock on against Watkins or a penalty against Harrison.
One of the few marginal calls he actually got right. The missed punch on Zak was appalling.

| Hall's no try was no more forward than the Wire second try, how Silverwood did not see the hand in Zak's face, and I am sure the headbutt on Sir Kev was deliabrate he moved his head before contact. But there is an issue with Silverwood and Leeds, he appears to give Leeds nothing just remember 2010 WCC

| Quote xparksider="xparksider"Having now watched the GF at least 20 times thanks to catch up TV. I'm now convinced that
(1) The first Ryan Hall =#BF0000[itry[/i was not from a forward pass.
(2) The head butt on Sir Kevin was deliberate.
If the head butt had been used as part of a tackle, instead of an attempted block, then I'm sure the officials would have taken more notice of it, instead of following the play. I'm also convinced that it would have been a sending off offence.
However, final outcome wasn't affected and the best team won on the day.
Congratulations to Sir Kevin on the England captaincy.'"
ryan halls knock on..the kick which hit harrison from about 5 yards which resulted in 6 more..funny youve not mentioned them..however best team won

Do you mean the one where Cooper tackled Delaney around his head?
