| Quote: Chief Stinkwort "See above.
It's a good idea when criticising team selection to qualify your comments with something along the lines of 'I can't see why he's doing this, rather than he's 'idiotic'.
For example, I thought Richard Moore might have done enough in the pre-season games to justify a starting place. Clearly, in Mac's view he didn't. Obviously a difference of opinion here, but my view is based on watching Moore excel for a couple of hours in a couple of friendlies. The coach, I would suggest, has a little more to go on. (no pun intended)'"
If I was fearful of litigation I would of course be more careful.....however I would have considered emotional and unqualified reactions here would be perfectly safe and within the acceptable 'spirit' of this [iinformal[/i forum ?? ...
Of course I (and presumably all on here) are not privy to all of the facts....but how boring would it be if we all had to quantify and verify our immediate opinions with all of those necessary facts .....? Can't imagine many bothering to contribute under those circumstances.
What is [iyour[/i favourite cake ?

All of which doesn't render your emotional and unqualified reactions immune to criticism.
Any cake will do, especially if it's chocolaty.
Have to say the chocolate muffins they serve in the Carnegie Bar are surprisingly chocolaty. Had one last night with a cup of coffee and thought it totally scrumptious.

Burrow did enough pre-season to justify a starting position...so what does our salubrious head coach do ? Starts him at hooker.
Of course you're basing these criticisisms upon your first hand viewing of the game and the tactic involved........aren't you?

| I know the Rhinos cheerleaders spent more time on the field than McShane did on Friday night but he didn't play well when he came on. Griffin looked impressive.

Is it though ???
Attended the game specifically to view how the loss of Buderus would be dealt with.
Was surprised to say the least to see Burrow starting and far from impressed with the result of that decision but I guess he ahd to tryand it might as well be now.
Looking forward to see any further developments next game.
Aslo under consideration is our defence down the right hand channel.

I'm guessing that in every supporters head there is "the Perfect Team" selected from any one of 20 or so individual players and I'm guessing that when some individuals turn up at a game and don't see their "Perfect Team" as the starting 13 then instantly the brain switches to "Moan Mode" and the questions spew out thick and fast, "Why isn't xxx playing. Why is xxx playing there when he should be here. Why is xxx sat in the stand with a broken arm..." that sort of thing, I'm sure we've all stood in front of one of those people.
Truth is, "The Perfect Team" rarely line up in their perfect formation right through the season but there is an element of support who just cannot understand that concept.

It's like the mourning after Diana died. People are now attending games in memory of Buderus. Sheeeesh!

Made no comment on how Buderus performed just the fact that he was a mssing factor.
My interest in team selection is based on 12 years of imput in that field albeit at a much lower level than SL.

My "perfect team" is always the one presented by the person selecting it.
Friday night was no exception and no criticism was offered before or during the game just rather a personal analysis and comment on the outcome.

Now there's an original concept. In over 4 decades of watching I can't think of a game that I've attended because someone isn't playing.
