Don't know if I mentioned this last week but our Dogs Trust adopted German Shepherd Dog, Jackson likes cake too, it was one of the first things we put on the list of requirements when we went to adopt a dog, "Must like cake".

Three weeks ago my youngest daughter baked 24 muffin buns and left them out on the kitchen worktop to cool, when she came back there was just the plate and a big fat German Shepherd Dog laying on his bed licking his lips, he'd eaten the bun cases as well and licked the plate clean but it was obvious that he'd nicked them.

Last week she baked a huge Betty Crocker chocolate fudge cake, we had a slice each and then she left it on the kitchen worktop, we all went to work but as she works evening shifts she didn't get up until later when we all got a text from her asking which one of us had given her massive chocolate fudge cake to the dog.

He learned from when he nicked the buns by eating the whole cake and then taking the plate down off the worktop and putting it next to his own food bowls on the floor so that she'd think that one of us had put the plate there.

Great dog.
