Lowes was appointed because GH came back from Aus without any realistic options, and no one else in GB was either available or cheap enough. Go back and read the YEP reports at the time Lowes was appointed and he (and BMD) pretty much admit it.

I seem to remember a quote from BMD something along the lines of "I knew after speaking to Lowesy for 10 minutes that he was the right man for the job and we had it all wrapped up in less than a week". I guess that 10 mins was "look, we only have £xx to spend, do you want the job or not?"

Given the coaches that have come and gone at Leeds since GH took over, I think this could be one he looks back on and thinks "maybe we could have done better"....

I'm prepared to say, 9 games into the season, McDermott (and his sidekick) is way out of his depth at Headingley.

Simply not good enough for this huge club. And the sooner it's rectified the better for all concerned. Saturday's woeful display beggared belief.

I've yet to see either McDermott or Lowes drop a pass, or miss a tackle, or give away a stupid penalty through indiscipline.

These are all faults that were evident in Leeds play last season, so it's a bit off to pin them to the mast of the current coaching team. The players need to take some pride and responsibility for their own performances.
