First impressions count.
The kit needs to be showcased in the best possible way right from the start. It's ok thinking, "We'll make the photo look really cool with backlit, shadowy photos" but most people see it and think... that looks rubbish. People want to be able to properly see the kit. It might sound really boring but it needs to be posed as such.
I bet there are quite a few people that didn't like the kit at first, like/love it when they see it on Boxing Day, or in the Club shop, or on that pic above. They should've got that right from the start really.
Take last seasons kit. That was actually a really nice kit in the end, but our first impression was looking up at Beastwood in a dark room.
