| That's the best performance I've seen since the WCC.
Slightly off topic, but Sargent is the kind of player we need for next season, it's a shame he's off back to Oz.

| CC maybe, but title as well is stretching it abit, come on.
We only just beat saints last week and they didn't have either first choice halfback.
Wigan gave us a touch up on our own ground and before that we needed a last gasp try to win.
It'll be a wigan saints grand final, let's not kid ourselves. Saints wigan top 2, saints wigan grand final. We've had a good grand final record recently because [uwe haven't finished outside the top 2 in 7 years.[/u.
and tony smith will put one over on us sooner or later just like hull were going to put on over us sooner or later in the 2005 cc final.

In fairness there was probably only one of those that was an actual chance, and that was when the match was pretty much dead. Firing the ball into Shentons face while he's surrounded by defenders, and then some of the others where players were trying to take high pressure passes at speed with defenders in place? That is always going to be a low percentage of success.
We also have some of our best defenders to return, Sinfield, Buderus, Delaney will fill the gaps we had last night.

| Cas were no great shakes tonight, but the defence moved up a level. I'm confident that we can improve further.
We have 6 or 7 big one off games coming up. I would rather have Bluey geeing the guys up over any other coach

| Quote rugbyleague88="rugbyleague88"If Warrington are at their best then I don't think Leeds are good enough yet. I still wasn't confident at all with Leeds defence, there appeared to be gaps all over and they were lucky that either Cas couldn't utilise the overlaps or Leeds managed to put a few try saving hits in.
I still think we are producing too many errors, penalties and are kicking game is not upto scratch. Hopefully a good win next week will bring Eastwood and Lauitiiti some confidence back to get them playing at their best.'"
Plenty of improvement in us no doubts but give credit where it's due mate the gaps were covered by some great scramble/desperate defence.
The lads stepped up a gear defensively last night and deserve praise for it they found that extra yard, hunger and will to win when under pressure then put Cas to the sword.
A huge step in the right direction and good preperation for the tests ahead.

| You do all realise we beat Warrington at the HJ a month or two back with a depleted squad don't you.
Good performance tonight, and be interesting to see how many players get rested next week, and if we can get a big win to keep the momentum up.

| I was a little disapointed with the performance over the full 80 minutes. The last 25 minutes inparticular (even though the game was won) was as bad as anything I've seen from us this season.

Anything we’ve done has been forgotten. Call it selective memory where people can only remember the good things that any other teams have done other than Leeds.

There were forced errors in there.
The pressure we applied contributed to the dropped balls.

| Tonights win by the Giants at the home of the supposed "Hub Cap" winners proves that 4th place is worth going for afterall, even if it was deemed that a 5th place finish would be better
I can see Wigan winning it in the remaining weeks though
But come play-off time and when the rules change dramatically, i can see either the Rhinos or the Saints winning the GF

agree with you there Damo, no one will fancy playing Leeds at this end of the season, what we have done over the last few years will be in the memory banks of our players and theirs too.
