I'd be interested to know what "public safety" risk is presented by playing a cricket match in front of few thousand elderly YCCC members who, as far as I'm aware, aren't considered to be amongst the rowdiest set of sports fans in the world. If Millwall were playing next door, I could understand it but this is a county cricket match we're talking about here.

We've played Wigan when YCCC have been playing in the past, we've happily managed to pack 22,000 supporters into one side of Headingley on more than one occasion in the past (a figure we wouldn't trouble anyway) and we know that the local area can cope with the traffic. I really don't see what is so dangerous.

The crush to get into the north stand. Remember last year when people had to take to the pitch to get to/from their seats? Its because the top entry blocks in the north wont be used due to the closure of the walkway at the cricket side of the north stand.
