Phil Clarke isn't a Leeds fan, he's a St Helens fan.

If Leeds played more like St Helens Phil Clarke would give them more credit.

Listening to his (and Bill Arthur's) commentary on the Leeds - St Helens 2003 semi final had to be heard to be believed. They made David Doyle-Davidson sound sane..... well almost.

Would that be the one where we went 7 points in front with 30 seconds to go, and Phil still reckoned Stains could pull off a victory?

Probably. I can't remember any specifics from the commentary (without getting the video out) but I recall the win was only enhanced further by stuffing it up the commentary team as well as Saints.

Phil Clarke is like the current spot I have on my backside, occasionally it causes some annoyance but generally you forget it is there and eventually it will disappear and will be then be irrelevant.

Every person on a sport show is meant to be reasonble fair, i have never heard Clarke say a good word about Leeds, watching re runs of the last two grand finals on V+ box, each time he implies Saints have been robbed.
Just be fair Mr Clarke.

Sports commentary on television is generally speaking of pretty poor quality. Particularly on Sky.

Whilst the viewer has the right to expect something far better, Rugby League is no different to any other sport in this regard.

Don’t often hear what Mr Clarke has to say about Leeds TBH but I’ve always thought he’s not a bad summariser (albeit being heavily Wigan bias)

It’s Tweedle Dumb and Tweedle Dumber who fill the commentary with inane ramblings and need replacing ASAP.
