Quote: FlexWheeler "Sad thing is I already know exactly how it’s going to go. Pre-season and recruitment will happen, there will be optimism. People will talk about having a squad to have a crack at top 4/5. But then we’ll inexplicably get thrashed at Warrington and any optimism will just immediately evaporate and we’ll be on the back foot straight away, from the first whistle of the season.

Next season will be exactly like this.'"

Not necessarily at all.
A lot of business to be done before then…..

I keep saying it but there is a decent side in there somewhere.

My first logical tick would be to get better players, because we can all see there just isn’t the required quality in the current squad. We need a few more players who can make things happen; suddenly then we become a real handful.

I do want to see that pack being more dominant, they’ve disappointed me and I think it’s a mixture of pure physicality and aggression we lack still.

Once we have a playing squad we can see should win, there is pressure on the coaching staff more. Jury is still out on RS for me; generally I still have faith in him but he needs to show what a squad of more of his own choices can do.

That much isn’t obvious at all, if there was something rotten they wouldn’t be putting the effort in, which they are but the quality just isn’t there. We aren’t getting hammered we’re competing but just not good enough, there’s no need to manufacture a rotten squad narrative just because you don’t like Rohan Smith

Quote: KaeruJim "Pretty much player of the season last 3 years or so but out of form this year for sure.
He needs to get back to the drawing board for the close season and work hard.
I wouldn’t be averse to signing a real good first grade prop and let Lisone, Oledski, Holroyd, Sangare fight it out.'"

Oledski became a Dad last year, I think. These lads are not in a position to hire nannies or opaires. I bet he's bleeding kn*ckered most of the time, I know I was. Good off season with no England nonsense and I'm sure he'll come again.

Just getting time to feed back after today's game. Honestly if you didn't attend the game then you will honestly not understand how horrendous the officiating was today and major decisions that ruined the game and mainly are chance of winning today's fixture. I'm not one for bagging officials all the time because the standard of officiating in SL is a complete joke imo we have full time officials who I actually believe don't know the laws of the game or there's new rules they can't keep up with. There was 5/6 decisions that were diabolical and you could have had prime Leeds of the Golden Generation playing today but even they wouldn't have won today's game with the decision that was given against us. However I am a big believer you have to control your own actions & destiny and we we're knowhere near good enough for a team thats trying to jump into a play off spot, but neither are Huddersfield they were just as poor as us but they were handed a 16-0 lead through 2 tries that shouldn't have stood. I feel like we only have hope in Rugby in this country as the governing body does not seem to have the correct mentality and decision makers to make are game more attractive and keep the sport going in the right direction, my only hope is that next year if all games have access to a video referee then we should use it and definitely bring in the captains challenge because we'll see a lot of decision being overturned that officials currently get terribly wrong.

I think he alluded to as much in his recent interview with Peter Smith, Clueso. I think his shoulder injury was pretty bad last year and he may still be carrying after effects. No real pre season. He hasn’t been awful this year but certainly not what we’ve come to expect.

Careful. I got slated something rotten earlier this season for saying the pack isn't big and nasty enough. Everyone sings about how big Lisone's penis is, but forget about how little the opposition actually cares. None of our forwards intimidate the opposition like they should.

He isn't the only parent of a young child in the league. Almost every club has them. And has done since the invention of sport. It's no excuse. If he is too tired to do his job efficiently, the club should have someone else capable of taking his place.

This is what has rattled my cage. The officials aren't fit to do their job. The RFL aren't fit to sort out the officiating. It's hard enough having to compete with the opposition when we have a depleted squad full of underperforming players, we can do without having to compete against incompetent officials who are moving the theoretical goalposts every game.

I can't thinknof one thing that felt right about todays game. It was all an embarrassment. The governing body need to make drastic improvements to the way the games are managed. The club needs to make improvements in the recruitment and coaching. The coaches need to make improvements on the player management and tactics, and the players need to make improvements in their performances. Everything is sub-par at the moment.

Perhaps if we didn't allow the merciless intimidation of young referees in the amateur game by parents - especially mothers - we might have a bigger funnel of potential talent coming through. No its all part of the game even when they get the decision correct they get abused and with no protection - completely exposed to the thugs that support the likes of Cas Panthers, Eastmoor etc

Smith unusually critical of the abysmal refereeing yesterday, also some uncharacteristic quotes about ever loss is a blow in his life, sounds like the pressure is on. Maybe its play offs or bust, Maybe one reason for recruitment being slow is GH wont give him the players without getting the results this year.
