Be careful - wriing Wigan off in July on this forum can make you look incredibly stupid - just ask the cretin who said after you lost to us "Sorry Wigan, this isn't your year."

I know ..... desperate times require desperate measures.
__________
Wigan's average attendance for their season in Division 2 (1980/81) is quoted as 4,693 in the 1st edition of the Rothmans Rugby League Yearbook. That was an increase of 28 on their relegation season.
They were the 2nd best supported club in the 2nd Division that year behind Fulham in their debut season who returned an average of 6,096 - a figure that would have placed them 4th in the RL behind Hull (11,711), Hull KR (8,904) and marginally behind Bradford N (6,105) but ahead of next in line Leeds (5,934)

| How the hell have we ended up talking about those slack jawed f*ck knuckles from deepest darkest lancs.
Tonight was poor on many levels. To be honest I'm sort of happy with things. As there are no cracks papered over. The sooner things at the top change the quicker the club can be put on the right path again.
I can handle a few years of $hite till the dead wood moves on. Struggling to make the 8 or not at all will get things moving.
It's horrible to see but life goes on! Chins up ey!
Whatever team win the GF it will be because they deserved it! You have to respect that.

| People recently were talking about how much JP had left in the tank?
From yesterday's match, you would say things are catching up with him.
With him going off after 12 minutes, I don't really understand that. Unless there was an injury. But he didn't seem to be struggling before or after. I know it was warm, but so soon seems puzzling.
But in the game, I have never seen him being neutralised as easy as that. He was kept well in check. Like all our pack to be fair.
Big game from Kirke/Shirke - 9/10 'drives' attempted I predict!

1157.jpg It's not how much talent you've got, it's what you do with it that counts.:1157.jpg |

| Does it really count as a 'drive' if you lumber up to the defensive line and then crumble when you get there?

That could be more to do with the baffling use of interchanges by your coach than what JP has in the tank.

Yes, statistically speaking, I imagine that would count.

It was not the timing, it was the three absolutely useless forwards we had on the bench who had to keep coming on (and the hooker who didn't actually get enough game time).

There's always Hauraki's party piece, wander up and then roll on your back (I'm assuming he likes his tummy tickled). "Knees and elbows", Weller, knees and elbows!!!

Should that be "What a difference a coach makes in Hauraki's case."? I guess when Cross takes the field at Wigan we'll see what a top coach could do for this Leeds team.
