| Credit to Wigan for a fast aggressive defense. With help from the ref they slowed down our PTBs and without three of our best attackers it was always going to be a struggle. Sinfield had one of those off days as did Hardaker and Watkins has lost some zip.
I think most of the players put in real effort especially just after half time when we looked like getting back in the game until errors gave away possession and momentum. I thought there were the usual big efforts from JP, JJB and Aiton and Achurch did ok too.
If we are to progress in the play offs we do need Burrow and McGuire back and on song

T.he team would have to attack to the right there would be no room to the left

Good. Maybe Watkins might get some quality ball in space

He would need to be a lot better than tonight - not his finest hour

Have to agree (ball retention especially)....another one that seems to be going backwards under McDermott's tenure.

from watching it on the telly, most of Leeds' pack looked lacklustre and despite having little in attack (in part due to missing personnel), it could be the forwards that cause most worries for the rest of the season.

| I think Watkins has been carrying a hip injury for a while. They looked knackered tonight, not surprising though. Really worry for Stevie Ward - bumped off a few times and doesn't impact in attack. I'm hoping an injury free preseason will help

| When we had the ball it was never for long. Some horrendous ball control. If we'd held it better in the second half, I thought we stood a chance.

| On a positive, Keinhorst played pretty well. Obviously not going to displace Moon or Watkins but better than our other stand- in options this year, and better than I remember him being before he went to Wakey.

| Quote: HyperbolicRhino "I agree re the lack of creativity, but throw McGuire, Burrow and Moon back in (plus hopefully a more clear headed Hardaker once the pathetic "investigation" mess has hopefully been cleared up) and that should help a lot. Bearing in mind Wigan are virtually at full strength tonight, and we've stayed with them throughout. Had a few more calls gone our way the scoreline would have been much closer.'"
Burrow wouldn't have made a difference against that defence. He would have been buried every time.
Keinhorst had a good game, so again unsure what change would have improved us enough.
We missed out at half back though. Sutcliffe did absolutely nothing, leaving only one half back in Sinfield, and too much pressure couldn't do it himself, with indecision and really poor kicking.
Someone needs to get a hold of Watkins. Such a class player, and just doesn't do enough to warrant that acclaim. Far too much standing still from him, if he is moving when receiving then you get the class.

| Must watch the game again as two people have praised the German , at the game last night and he seemed ordinary to say the least (not on his own though)

| The team as a whole just didn't get going their defensive line speed put us on the back foot from ko what was annoying was the 5th tackle options we knew they were on top so why not kick on the 3rd or 4th and make them come from there end more often?
Too many errors and passing to someone standing still got us nowhere but at the same time given the CC and last weeks efforts id rather we "hit a wall" now rather than in the play offs which will be tougher.

With the exception of Ward I thought all the players you've listed were decent last night, Achurch was the only forward who looked dangerous when carrying the ball. Briscoe tried really hard was OK given his lack of ball, and although I still don't think Keinhorst has a long term future at Leeds, he did about as much as you could expect from him last night.
