Don't think Aston Wilson was very highly rated by the Rhinos & they were ready to let him go at the end of last season.
He was so keen to stay that I understand he offered to play on a week-to-week contract, which as far as I know is still the case.
The club have been trying to loan him out to a Championship club this season & he has only been able to make the subs bench for the U20's recently.
It would appear that there are several centres in front of him currently, such as Ablett, Delaney, BJB, Watkins , Lee Smith & perhaps even Coady.
Wilson is a big lad, but may just lack the speed & awareness required for SL.
Some of the older posters will remember his dad, Warren Wilson, who formerly played for the club.

I bet there will be no major news (re signings) until after the Semi.
That way, it helps perk fans up again after a defeat or if we win through to Wembley it adds to the feeling of euphoria before a massive final

He has always looked pretty good when I have seen albeit only a handful of games on TV and in the SL highlights.
Probably never going to set the world alight but does have the tenacity and pace to cause problems.
At least they will have two half backs with a kicking game unlike us. |
