There were far worse performances than Hurrell last night

Only seen the highlights so cant comment on the overall performance, but its a really poor result...Not for the first time recently, Agar seemed furious with it.

From the highlights, some of there scores were embarrassing, incredibly soft. A huge problem with this team is a lack of composure imo, sounds like this was the case again from reading the comments in here.

Good to see the speed of Morgan Gannon on the chase back on Evalds, was going stride for stride with Handley and Evalds, 2 international backs.

He didn’t’cost’ us 6 points we shouldn’t have been in that position some terrible defending led to that try and it wasn’t Hurrell, also see Cas’ first try both Leeming and Martin right royally stuffed up far worse than hurrell.

Yes he can be a liability sometimes but there seems to be no objectivity from some

As an outsider, and watching Hurrell on numerous occasions, he’s explosive, at times unstoppable, and boy he must of been some player in his prime, yes he has his weaknesses, but he’s one of those players that’s a privilege to watch live, give him another year.

Mate, we all know Hurrell can do no wrong for you and you shut anyone down who criticises him.

But, the fact is, he's a marquee international player and we expect and demand more.
Yes, he does 2 or 3 decent runs every 4 or 5 games.
But he is a liability in defence and cannot retain the ball consistently.
That's not good enough and most on here can see that and are entitled to criticise.
If he is our biggest attacking threat, that isn't a credit to him, it's more a damning indictment on the rest of the team!!
I expect him to be released.

But having said that, I'm getting more concerned about King.
He doesn't seem up to it physically.
I actually don't think we'll keep him now.

Out of interest, can you name the game when he last dropped a ball? I remember him getting us a few penalties against Hull where it was stripped in the tackle, but I think he has largely eradicated these errors from his game. Not so defensively of course. If he stays it won't be at a marquee wage so no point basing thinking on that. I think we're a bit guilty of taking the huge meterage he makes every game for granted. He might not be Jamie Lyon, but he's not the total mug he's made out to be.

Can do no wrong? ive said he’s a liability sometimes but i can be objective tbat try wasn’t solely down to him he shouldnt have been in that position

I don’t think anyone is saying he should stay on marquee money but tbe constant blaming him and him alone is wrong

He made ine defencive error last night in a position that some poor defence (not him) led to

He was absolutely at fault on that crossfield kick try. Defensively there's surely no doubting that he's a liability. He's all over the place.

No scapegoating from me.
I've never blamed him for a loss.

I'm just trying to find a reason to offer him another deal.
And I'm not sure he's worth it.
He is explosive at times, but I don't think that's what we need in the centres.
We need that up front.

King looks like it won't work out, so we need another prop.
We could release King and Hurrell and go big for Taupau/Taukeaiho.
Or release King, retain Hurrell and go for a cheaper british prop.
I'd prefer the first option tbh.
