Quote: BrisbaneRhino "The only thing that easy to criticise Subfield for so far are some of the players re-signed. I'd say Furner has to show a bit more that he's the man capable of moving us forward.'"

Crosby, Donaldson, that useless ingot Thompson last year... not progressive. Ablett and JJB aren’t providing value for salary cap so far no. But we don’t know what deals they’ve agreed, financially. Merrin - I think he’s quality but he’s not good enough to carry the pack. Right way to use a marquee spot? Time will tell.
I really like Hurrell but because of his errors, he needs to be playing in a side with a generally low error count. We’re using him far too directly at the moment rather than creating space and opportunities for him, due to the fact nobody else wants to take the responsibility on. It’s a cop-out giving the ball to Hurrell and watching him pile into an organised defence whose main game plan is to shut him down.
The other players we’ve been linked with aren’t lighting my fires so far but I want to see what Sinfield is working on for 2020 when we have cap available again.

Stop Hurrell you stop Leeds and everyone knows it. Anyway Catalan have 6 forwards out so no excuses.

Sorry chaps, but some of the signings that have been made some wouldn't get into most of the SL teams. Last year someone openly said that there was too much salary cap sat in the stands. This year already 3 players who last year was sat in the stands are again sat in the stands, the same three players, yet two of them were given a one year and two year contract respectively. This is a professionally run Rugby club, not some kind of charity. When people say booing is not acceptable, please think of this, A father earning little more than the minimum wage spends any spare money he has taking his son to watch Leeds Rhinos, the chap works hard all week doesn't earn much, gets paid little if on the sick and he turns up at Headingley to watch what so far has been served up on the field as rubbish. I don't blame anyone for booing, because if the players cannot handle criticism they should not be professional rugby.
Please remember some of these players are earning over £80k per annum. It also informs the Directors and the players to get their fingers out and start putting their bodies on the line for the team. No doubt some of the fans on here saying booing is not acceptable don't even go to the games.
If they lose on Saturday followed by losing next Thursday, the booing boys will be so loud you will be able to hear them in the city centre.
Not everyone has access to the Directors, but rest assured I give them lots of verbal when I catch up on match day.

If you want to boo, then boo. I have in the past and should the need take me I will again.
We are all passionate for the club and ateotd its pent up frustration bubbling to the surface.

Quote: KaeruJim "We are in a hole but the youth system is the light at the end of the tunnel. We have a group of 16-19 year olds with the future of Leeds in their hands.

I’ve never seen a stronger pack graduating through at the same time - not sure we have a real standout like Adrian Morley but I am pretty confident that a good number of the current crop will make it to first grade.

With Oledzski and Smith already pretty much through, we have a genuinely exciting set of middles developing over the next few years. Trout, Walters, Smith is an absolutely cracking back row in prospect and with Edwards, Delaney, McConnell, Mustapha in reserve too that is extremely handy.

I see no reason why Oledzski and Holroyd won’t make the full England team in a couple or three years, and Johnson is the best hooker I’ve seen since Matt Diskin.

McLelland has a bright future and there is some skill in the back line too.

The main task the club has now is investing in this talent, providing the right culture around them and giving them opportunities. But fans need to be patient because we are still years away from this development bearing fruit in the first team.

Personally I can’t wait to see what this crop of players can do once they’ve matured.'"

Agree with all of the above and there is no bigger champion of bringing thru the youth than me but from what I hear the young lads aren't hungry enough and don't work as hard as they should which is disappointing to hear.

We need these kids to show some drive and willingness to take the club forward in the way the golden generation did.

When I hear that some are asking what time training will finish before it's begun cos they have other things to do it doesn't bode well.

I know it wouldn't have gone down well under Dean Bell when he ran the academy who used to flog them to death.

These lads have a golden opportunity, have the talent to take it lets hope they realise it and work for it.

There are plenty - maybe the majority - of talented lads who never make it because of an immature or bad attitude. There isn't a 100% translation of academy prospects into first grade because of this - however, even with this in mind I think the sheer numbers coming through should yield a handful of real stars.

If there was more competition at junior level so that talented players couldn't dominate so easily, it might breed better attitudes in them younger - but it is what it is.

I do think Rob Burrow is a good pick for Academy coach - he has the heart of a lion and knows exactly what it takes for players to achieve success. Some lads just won't listen and they'll end up falling by the wayside, or growing up somewhere else like Cas...

I don't deny anyone on here is passionate about the game and the club, each to their own. I do disagree that money equates to class though - that is an individual choice. I don't recognise booing as classy or constructive, and I would never do it myself, and never have.

I will never understand why fans think booing team off at half time helps the team?

If you get booed and yelled at when you go on lunch at work it would make you not want to go back in the afternoon surely?

Sadly the crowd aren't able to sit down with players and review their work one on one. Booing someone at work would be a lot more honest criticism than most poor performers get at work.

Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.:icons077e_files/5454-3678dentheman-msnicons.jpg

Fans pay good money to attend surely they are entitled to comment on a performance. Are you suggesting the crowd be silent as the players walk off. If they have played well they deserve all the cheers they get but if they don't they need to realise the crowd don't think its good enough - you can't have it both ways.

If you went to a restaurant and the dish wasn't cooked you would tell the staff also if it was really good you would also tell them. Rugby is no different its entertainment nothing more.

It’s just crowd psychology. Personally I think booing is childish, counterproductive and rude.

I highly doubt any boo boys would brave enough to boo a professional RL player to their face, but it’s alright in an unaccountable mob.

You could take the view that you can do what you want if you pay your money, but all you’re doing is venting without filters, you’re not going to make any positive change and in fact it’s embarrassing.

I notice champagne side Cas got booed yesterday against Saints too, fickle lot.

It's not how much talent you've got, it's what you do with it that counts.:1157.jpg

The most British thing to do if we weren’t happy with the performance would be to “tut” repeatedly, and then when someone asks if everything is OK, we say yes it’s fine...

Soon we will be dancing the Fandango FROM 2004,TO DO WHAT THIS CLUB'S DONE,IF THATS NOT GREATNESS THEN I DONT KNOW WHAT IS. JAMIE PEACOCK:

I always expected us to drop a bit after the glory period. I knew it wouldn't last forever, we all agreed on that, but I didn't expect us to sink like this.
