| Kallum has been a tremendous player for us for 11 years. He probably should have taken a punt on the NRL 3 or 4 years ago.
I hope he does really well down under.
I understand it's a business and a business decision and I understand why it has been done but its left a bitter taste. Leeds is a club that does things the right way, with class. This sorry episode is far removed from that.

| The club is in danger of relegation thsts why they've had to look at Kals contract going forward as we're in dire need of quality halves etc. Kal is a legend of the club and goes with all our best wishes but hes not the player he was.. not even close. So with the urgent need the club has had to act. Cant fault them.

| Quote: Gotcha "Good god Mark, I understand the frustration, we all have it mate, but come on think about it.
Watkins wasn’t just released mid year. You have to have a willing other club to take the player, otherwise you are simply adding to your cap. In Watkins we have that, it was a simple business decision. Who is going to take on poop like Ferres? An injured finished Ablett? There not, so we are stuck with them. Pay them up now, and all we do is effect the cap for others to come in mid season.
Yes we want rid, but can’t just click our fingers. Look at Goulding, Parcell, Cuthbertson, all season available, and nobody come in for them, until now it seems Hull KR want Parcell.'"
Well lets put it this way no other DOR would be signing Ablett Albert Crosby anyway.
The Squad management is a shambles & lets be right here "insitgating an early release" is as good as forcing him out.
Even on current form there'd be plenty interested so its no surprise.

| It might also tie in with the loans for some of the juniors. Get them, particularly Muizz, some game time to help fill the gap. But we defo need a half back in.

| Let’s get things in perspective. KS has brought in Merrin, Hurrell and Ava (plus McLelland, Walters, O’Connor, Mellor). Some of the dross last year was desperate barrel- scraping with not much cap available.
I’m pretty happy with most of the “proper” signings we’ve made. And with some of the departures too.
There is a plan here but you can’t undo 5 years of e recruitment and poor academy management overnight.
The squad is rotten and needs complete renewal, which it just about will be after 18 months of KS coming in. He’s not Harry Potter. Yes he has made one or two mistakes but it is going in the right direction and it’s a game of player Jenga.

That’s exactly my thinking. His biggest test, and possible mistake, will be the coach appointment. That’s what he really needs to get right.

Agree. most were relatively happy with Crosby being given a contract at the time aswel. Ava looks a very good signing, Mellor fits the right profile, Merrin and Hurrell have been 2 of our best players and we'v signed two of the best youngsters in the British game in Walters and Mcllelland, another 2 of the best youngsters in the game, Walker and Oledzki, have been resigned to long contracts aswel. Also Think all the departures have been correct decisions.
The coaching fiasco and renewals for Abblett and JJB the bad moves.
Overall though, im happy with the recruitment /retention of players since Sinfield took over. Team selections a bigger issue for me and god knows whos responsible for that, hopefully its Agar /Furner as it should be.

I agree with team selection, the likes of Briscoe sutcliffe Myler singleton Ferres, get picked no matter what what despite inept performances.
I a man not cool nvm bcd by Mclelland at all so far, not sure he will be good enought full stop, that said I would give him a 4-5 game run and see how he handles an extended run, as he simply cannnot be worse than what we are going with every week.

| Officially gone now, been a great player without ever really being as good as he could have been, looks pretty finished now, gives us space no to sign a class halfback now this season hopefully.

He's still Leeds player until the 1st July. Agree we a desperately in need of a quality half back or 2.

| I don't buy this wasn't as good as he could've been. He's became the best centre in the league, one of the best in the world, and has the medals to go with it. He's also still got plenty of time to reach his previous performance levels.
Good luck to him, it's been a pleasure watching him.

More consistency could have elevated him to Senior/Lyon levels but i blame that purely on the structure/game plan & Coaching.

| For me her never reached the point where he was unplayable enough. Always a threat, great servant to the club and a very good player. Wish him all the best
