| I don't think he'll miss the Challenge Cup games.
All joking apart I feel sorry for him, I don't like too see any player injured.

I now read that the incompetent england coaching team are going out to Australia to check out on our boys playing over in Australia . Nice work if you can get it, I am certain everybody on this site can tell them how good the the English boys are over in Australia. That's why they are playing in the nrl.
After the exiles game we have learned nothing, apart from the fact we managed to play a recognized full back at centre, also the exiles team were the weakest we have seen.
I presume the rugby league will be paying sinfields wages due to him been injured playing for England .
I leave you with the most banal and jaw dropping comment I have ever heard from Stevo on last Fridays game .
' after England's first half performance the Aussies and kiwis will really be sitting up and taking notice''"
Sadly I have to agree. I have seen no development or improvement in england under Steve McNamara, in the world cup the best they can hope for is that they keep the score down against australia in the semis.
It hurts because i think now more than any other time in the super league era they have some players of real individual ability. You have the 'burgi' and graham all making waves down under and then you have the assortment of decent forwards we have over here (the crown jules are in aus). Then you look at all the outside backs we have started to produce in the last few years, hall, watkins, tomkins, briscoe, charnley etc. We actually have some choice and competition of quality there, remember when we were playing the likes of richard horne on the wing?
The only area we are still severly lacking is in the halves, because in all the other areas we aren't doing too badly now.

| Bad news, At least it isn't the end of his season.
Who is likely to take over the kicking then?

We know you don't like to see bad injury's to opposing players, but we have someone on our board who has a list of quite a number of Wiganers who think differently and posted so,and it looks like they didn't get even a warning

Burrow with McShane helping in general play I would have thought

| A pity Sinfield is injured spoiling his consecutive games run. He is a model professional, and the injury coming is such a game is bad.

With that attitude we might as well chuck the international game in the bin now. Some people might well be happy with that, but I'd rather not give up on it yet.
Mickey Mouse game it may have been, but it's effectively a mid-season friendly and until France or the other home nations are strong enough, the Exiles is the most competitive opposition available to England mid-season.
Somebody got injured. That's sport for you. Have you asked Sinfield whether he was reluctant to risk injury captaining his country? It's cr*p luck, but it's a contact sport and it happens.
If it was Wigan fans protesting that they should be compensated for players getting injured playing for England this board would be having a meltdown. No, you employ a professional RL player, unless the clubs make special arrangements in advance with the RFL, you let your players play for England, because that's what they want to do as professionals and you take the risks that come with it. What would we do with the money anyway?
And I'm not having the "of course they're awesome, they're in the NRL" rubbish either. On past performances I see no case for Jack Reed or Chris Heighington retaining their places in the England side, and they seem to have a gig in the NRL. Whether you agree with the current incumbent being England coach or not is one thing, but given that somebody is in post I think it would be remiss of them not to go and watch several of our players in action, given that they can do it in one trip.
Stevo making banal comments in any context is hardly news. Is he really any worse in relation to this game than any other?
Injuries are, as alluded to by others, the traditional way talented youngsters get their chance. Pity Ward's still out, but it should see some more game time for both Sutcliffe and McShane.

Err, didn't you spend quite a lot of time campaigning for that not so long ago?

I don't really see much (read any) academy RL these days, but I was told by people who do that he isn't really a winger to start with?

| Sinfield out could be worked into a real positive. He's played alot of games and minutes over last few years. With it only being a thumb injury there's still alot he can be doing and will freshen him up (no doubt he will be carrying little knocks). Better to be out for 6 weeks now rather than the last 6 weeks of our season.
