| Shout out to Fusi too, he returned the ball well and was a threat under attacking high ball.
Interesting to see Gary chatting to Austin in the changing room!

| It's no coincidence Austin and Sezer play better when playing as runners. I know in Sezer's case especially, people think of him as an organiser, but but he operates best as a runner, particularly close to the ruck.
I've heard people say tha Smith prefers a running full back, but having an extra ball player on the edges with Smith as the central ball player really gives our attack much more balance.

| The last couple of games (and at other times when we've played well) there's been intent with our carries, we've respected the ball and played when we've earnt the right to as well as having some speed in our defensive line and winning collisions. We've also ditched short kick offs and other corner cutting methods. Theres definitely a shift in Rohans philophies as he's experienced what doesn't work and what does.

| First 30 minutes we were outstanding, potentially the best we've been all season.
Wire came back into the game but at no point did I worry we were going to lose as our defence was solid and their attack wasn't much more than one up rugby.
Austin and McDonnell were stand outs but thought MacDonald also had a great game, he makes loads of metres out of yardage and then a quick PTB.
It was good to see our pack hold its own against a team with lots of big middles, especially Kasiano, too many games he has run riot against us but not last night

Warrington only got back into the game when our intensity dipped possibly because the players didn't have the resistance they expected from their opponents. I thought we showed a commitment to each other which was pleasing to see. Team spirit seems great and for that Smith must take some credit. Austin is on fire, O'Connor had a top game too and McDonald has been the best signing we have made for years. Smith apart from the pass for the Handley try was a blocker in the attack - he isn't a ball player - he isn't mentally alert enough. Great defender - total commitment. Lisone was superb last night - good to see his extending his contract. Top performance all round.

Definitely, just wish we'd have done this at season start ! I know it's a marathon not a sprint but there's no way this playing roster should be below 6th.

Ultimately if we don’t make the 6 its those daft losses against cas and wakefield that’s done for us which is really annoying

Unfortunately the end of the season will have to be a long sprint from now.

I think the yellow card energised Warrington, something that often happens, but I imagine some fatigue kicked in for Leeds, which is to be expected when you go all guns blazing from the off.
We cant forget that even tho they've lost a few games in a row, they are second in the league with some very good players, they were always going to come back into the game at somepoint but we still managed to make good metres in attack and kept them quiet in defence.
Agree about Lisone, he really has settled now, his fitness has improved and it seems like his weight has dropped, impressed with him, especially his passing skills, which i wasnt expecting. Hes also another player thats great at getting a quick PTB.

| It appears to me that RS has tried out a lot of things for full games that you might want to throw in to a game plan for 10-15 minutes. Finding what could and doesn't work, made the transition back to traditional rugby a little late for me but we do look good when we do play like last night. First half we were superb, 2nd half Wire came back into the game and sorted out their own defence which would account for our slight drop in intensity, also very difficult to keep that up for 80. Only small dissapointment for me was that we didnt press home the advantage when they were down to 12 with big Kassiano off the field, could have killed the game off then.

| McDonnell only carried the ball twice last night which is surprising. Just shows how good his defence is to be standing out in games when hes barely touching the ball.

| Very good performance last night and fully deserved.
I don`t think Warington were that bad other than lacking ideas near the line.
For me Ratchford and Duffy were very poor and Kasiano was atrocious along with Dudson.
Myler chiming into the line and Austin and Sezer running the show were highlights from the backs.
Not one player let us down tonight.
As mentioned in another thread Austin must get a 2 year contract especially if Sezer is leaving.
Walters is going from strength to strength for sure.

| That’s two weeks on the trot now where we’ve really shown what we can do when we hold the ball and play with more intensity. It’s a world away from where we’ve been for almost all of this season and especially the couple of weeks before. Smith really seems to have changed the way we play, much more line speed and intent in defence earns the right to promote the ball more in attack and it’s paying off.
Let’s hope we can keep it going.
