This is going to be a very long season, such a huge number of mistakes and clearly low on confidence. Hurrell looks as though he will be good, but Merrin and Lolohea both look very unfit and poor value.

Watkins needs another 6-8 weeks to get some match fitness he’s very underdone.

I think you’re being harsh there.

Matched Wigan in the forwards which was where we thought we’d struggle. And we looked much sharper and more dynamic with the ball. We looked a threat on plenty of occasions

I’m pretty happy with that performance to be honest.

Maybe it’s just me then, I thought Wigan were much worse than Warrington and that we were pretty crap.

How come when the ball hit that Wigan player the tackle count didn't get reset?

This match was decided by those two terrible calls in the first half that gave Wigan 12 points they'd done nothing to deserve and meant that we were chasing the game. It's not the refs fault that we made so many mistakes after that point, but he gave us absolutely nothing.

Dramatically better performance, keep improving like that, stop dropping the ball and throwing it into touch, and get a referee with working eyes and we'll be there or there abouts I reckon.

Far too sloppy, but much improved and plenty to build on. Not sure why Dwyer hasn't come back on. Without a quick PTB Parcel offers nothingand as a team we were too static in attack.
Although, I'm not surprised given the amount of defending we had to do early in the 2nd half.

Hopefully, as the season goes on we'll get more minutes out of Peteru, I thought he had a great first spell.

Not sure Lolohea deserves the criticism, he along with Dwyer were our best players in attack.

Some positives but we won't win many with that standard of performance at 1, 6 & 7.

Ferres was better though still too many errors.
Could almost see Watkins getting up to speed as the game went on.

Best of all, there seemed to be a bit of a plan.

Who knows where it'll go? There were also positive signs early on in last year's disastrous season...

Both goal line misses werectackles I'd expect a fullback to make,, especially the one where he's bumped off by a held George Williams ffs. Wigan's second try (the deflection) wasn't down to Walker, he was badly out of position for the third (Greenwood).

I'm not convinced he's either.

Even though it wasn’t the best game from 19 year old Jack Walker, he still looked dangerous with the ball, but he made uncharacteristic errors. Walker will be Leeds’s full back for the next 15 years and rightly so.

Myler was very poor. Lolohea hasn’t looked impressive yet, but it’s too early to write him off.

Peteru was a big improvement on Singleton and Ferres had a good game.

Lolohea is more citroen 2cv
