Its one of the reasons we don't have a great international game. No appetite for it people cannot put their club loyalties to one side. Looking and hoping for a English player to mess up from another club.
Don't think any of the players were particularly bad. The only one I thought was off the pace first half was SOL. But he improved a lot second half. Regarding J Burgess did everything that was asked didn't have a bad game nothing spectacular bit like hardaker

| Well, i though Zak was fine, and even if ST was available, should not have played FB..... I think that most sensible Wigan fans would agree on that. Which is the best, is just a matter of opinion. And as we all know, opinions are like a$$holes...

I think the coach hasn't helped with his poorly balanced squad. Leeds won the treble yet it felt like the MoS FB would be moved to centre if Samkins was fit, that Cuthbertson wasn't given a spot ahead of SoL despite his age/ injury record taking it's toll and that Mcguire and Briscoe were unlucky not to be in the squad.
It's a shame S Ward is injured as I think he would have been in with a shout too, Same for Walmsley . He has been the best prop this year and I would have liked to have seen him get a chance against the Kiwis.
If Mcbanana had of added Percival to the squad he wouldn't have to play a class back rower (Bateman) at centre or likely move Watkins into the opposite centre position in the coming week. Same for Cuthbertson if Cooper doesn't pull through... Putting in an over the hill back rower (Westwood) in at prop when we could of had Cuthbo or another specialist prop.
That said He did at least give a position and place to George williams so well done to him for that.

| I wouldn't mind seeing Mcgilvary given a shot this week TBH.
If we win that game I wouldn't mind seeing Williams and Gale at HB .

Not a problem having O'Loughlin or Weatwood instead f Cuthbertson. It's Matty Smith who should've been dropped for him. A 4th HB instead of a 5th prop is ridiculous. If Widdop or Williams were injured or dropped he's got Gale, would only need Smith in the unlikely event of both getting injured.
Even if he didn't want to go with Cuthbertson then at least pick some other prop. I know losing Walmsley was a blow but surely could find another. Pick Amor, Huby, Watts anybody....even Crabtree if just to save us from his presenting 'skills'
Or pick a young one for experience like Singleton or Savelio.

I thought Andy Lynch finally deserved some recognition too.Was excellent this year but always seems to go under the radar when international squads are announced although we have been blessed in the front row department for a while now.

Hasn't Lynch previously refused to play international rugby? Otherwise you're right he should have been capped a lot more than he had, but at 36 his time has gone as the Burgesses, Walmsley, Watts, Savielo, Singleton are all 25 or under, with Hill and Cooper 27 and Graham 30. We're set at prop for a very long time.

Not sure on that. You are right, we have a cracking conveyor belt of props right now and with the prospect of having Sam Burgess back in the mix soon, who i think we will have the luxury of playing in the back row, our backs and halfs should have an awesome platform to work off in the coming years.

IIRC he once passed up on a representative call-up to go get married, and never got asked again after that.

| Lynch was called up at least 3 times IIRC, I think he decided to get married instead, another time he decided to go on holiday, and another time he was injured.
So, he has actually receive quite a lot of recognition I always got the impression play for England wasn't really close to his list of ambitions.
