| Let them down gently... We did all we could, made the best offer we can, still not decided, he's gone.

| Tbf if an NRL club wants any player enough then they can always financially outmuscle any SL club many times over.
The decision for the player is, is it the right move for me at the right time?
They can back themselves to make it, coupled with financial reward, and if they do then fair play to them.
If they go and don't make it, they pick up a nice wedge but could be warming a bench for a year or two. Doesn?t do much for their longer term stock.
They can decide the time isn't right and hold off for a year or two, not risk free but might be the making of them.
Choices.

| Expected, but still disappointing. The club should have moved earlier if they thought he was that promising, and Morgan himself will come to realise he's gone too soon within the next 12 months.
We move on.

| Says he doesnt want to play for any other SL club, so could see him back with us if it doesnt work out.
Good luck to him though, cant blame him for taking the opportunity.

| Another factor for him is that he knows Australia and has family over there, not like a young kid going without any support near by. That might be why he had decided to go so early in his career.

But New Zealand is not Australia. Good luck to him, but its time the club have been burned here by sticking by him. We still gave Max Simpson not played for 2 1/2 years we cannot jeep supporting players who perpetually injured.

It's just part of the sport, it is brutal and tougher on younger bodies.

| Lots of players pick up longer term injuries when they are younger, I'm pleased the club stands by them it shows we care and helps to create better human beings. In the case of Gannon, it's disappointing that after the club took the decision to prioritise his health over their prospective gain, that he has returned the favour by leaving at the first opportunity.
We have other kids coming through, we should now focus on them and develop them and if that means Gannon gets less game time as a result for the rest of this season then so be it. He has looked out for himself, the club has to look out for itself too.

Totally agree with what you say on supporting players, particularly younger players, though injury. It pays off in the long term and it's just the right thing to do. On Gannon - I think he's better (most talented) second rower, and he'd play every week for me. As a club we have to give ourselves the best chance of winning something this year, and he makes us better.
