| You get the best out of the players available to you regardless of results, I don’t see that being evident this last month at least. Will see if he’s the ability to do that in the next set of fixtures. One thing I really disliked was when he told the players to have a look at themselves publicly, no looking inward to the collective responsibility including himself and the coaching team.

| Quote: Marty Grrrrrrrrrr! "Ive no idea if a change is likely but I would be suprised if it was by the club. I dont think it would concern Agar too much if we decided to move on. He has higher paid offers (plural) elsewhere on the table for less pressure jobs. He is much more respected within the game than fans think. Maybe he would be the one to initiate a change but I dont think he will.
Leeds think hes a "bloody good coach" but the club and Agar both know he will never be fully accepted by the fans and every defeat will always see calls for his head but theyve known that from the start.
We need a win to raise morale but next 3 are tough games no doubt about it. 3 losses and pressure on the club will really be on.'"
Interesting stuff about him being in demand. As you say lose on Friday and with saints and cats away we will likely be looking at 2 wins from 10, season all but over except for staying up and giving the young players more game time. The late July/August fixture list looks a bit mad so we need some players back to compete through it.
Another year finishing in 8,9 10 will be very disappointing.

| We could finish 8th this year and still take the title next. We have the core of a really good side developing.
All depends on the new signings... plus a little luck.

That level of optimism really is beyond absurd!

Ok but if we’d had a decent stand off this season I’m saying we would have won at least three more games. The main reason we are so low on the table is because of a savage injury toll.

I admire your optimism Jim but I can’t see that core of a really good side.

I agree, we probably would have competed more and picked up a few more points without the injuries.
But in reality we are way off the top 2.
We’re probably in that middle 6.
At the moment we’re at the bottom of it. Wouldn’t take too much to get us up to the top of it.
But major investment to really challenge the top 2 I think.

| Impossible to say where we'll be next year until we know who'll be at 6. Personally I'd stick with myler at FB but the club might see walker as best pick there; if so, no-one knows where he'll be form and fitness-wise. There are also questions to be answered at centre. There's no nailed on case that we'll be challenging in any shape or form. IMO of course.

| Very much in two minds about Wane for next year. He’s certainly a tough cookie and lives and breathes the game. I used to be very impressed with Wigan’s structures but this has continued after Wane’s departure which suggests it’s more about the coaching team Wigan have in place as distinct from one individual. Overall, if we are able to invest in our teams obvious deficiencies, I would stick with Agar and his coaching team which is newish anyway and has been bedevilled with bad luck through injury since it’s formation. I think we all need to have faith with the Club and see how youth and new players galvanise as a team this year AND next……. Before making major changes with the coaching side. Let’s be honest…… when the core of your three quarters are injured and the teams spine has been decimated we have still run teams close. Things will improve at the Rhinos!

Well technically I can’t remember predicting we would finish on the top 2, and do remember saying I thought we were a solid mid table side in need of some more key signings. I’ve been pretty consistent in that.
I did think we could challenge this year with sone following wind but obvs with the injuries etc...
I’ve also repeatedly said that my expectations for this year were that we would build and have a real push for 2022, and I haven’t lost my pants when we got predictably dumped out of the CC and losing league games.
However if we finish outside the top 6 this year there is a curry and Stella night waiting for you with me and Gotcha in his Scarborough caravan park.
