What did you expect, he is a Cas lad after all.

But you are talking about 2 players that Leeds rejected as not good enough. Cams brother (dan) has proved to be another very astute signing for Cas but I watched Cam from Lock Lane under 8's and it was always obvious he had the skills to be a GB player.

| Only seen highlights but what really stands out were the different type of tries we scored.
Great to see an all round performance after what happened in week 1.
Cam Smiths potential was always there & fair doos credit to Agar for sticking him at 13 in pre-season & sticking to it up to now.
Good to see the younger lads proving again that age is just a number & with the right backing there's no need to sign pkayers like Evans.
Still 1 or 2 quality signings needed imo but a great response & plenty of positives to build on.

| Sounds like it backs were dangerous tonight. Maybe because we had winners on the wing and in the centre. My dear is that if Martin or ward are available again, we'll revert back to Sutcliffe at centre

| Would also like to say, referees really bug me in the game, I just can’t see how Kendall gets the games he gets. But last season I kept saying that every time I saw that Grant reffing, he was excellent. Here we were again last night, and yet again an excellent performance.
That’s about 12 games I have seen of his over the last year, including championship, and he is the most consistent ref by miles I have seen in the game. He should be the very first go to for super league games.

| A few more like that and we can lay claim to being flat track bullies once more
Seriously, good to know there's a few points in us and great to see the youngsters showing up well. Good also to show some of the stuff that can't be bought, makes it a lot easier not to panic about the stuff that can.

| As someone previously mentioned Luke Gale is by far the best we have had at half back for a long while.Having said that I am happy to see the much maligned Richie Myler in the 17 too, I think he is a good player and would like to see him as starting hooker for the time being,
Finally I think the club ( was it KS ? ) was justified in off loading Mitch Garbutt, spends far too much time on the treatment table, I liked him but you wonder if his heart is really in it

Thought he let the game flow much better than the likes of Hicks and Kendall who can't stop blowing the whistle. Of course, refs are always better when you score 50 !
On last night, also thought Lui played really well on the right, encouraging but HKR were definitely playing after the Lord Mayor's show last week.

Was there a ref on the field? Never noticed him. Really good.

It's not his heart that isn't in it it's his knees that aren't in it.
Always sad to see a decent player struggle because of recurring injuries. That said, Leeds did the right thing at the right time in offloading him.
What's the score with Ava's knee? It's always been heavily strapped. Is that precautionary or is that an ongoing issue he has?

| Much better albeit against limited opposition. Simple changes make a big difference, a proper winger on the right wing, Newman and Smith in their correct positions with the latter playing as an extra pivot, a controlling half back, a hooker who didn't go himself too much and 4 props rotating.

| Really happy with that, looked a different team. Some proper children on hear with the 'its quiet' posts. Agar got it wrong against Hull with Newman on the wing and more importantly the light bench, people were rightly frustrated. He got it right last night so well done to him and the team, lets enjoy the good win and hope it continues.
Cam Smiths quality and always has been, good on Agar for trusting him in his natural position. need to sort Cams new contract out sharpish.
