I can assure you Les there has been no bigger critic of Dwyer than me and I was not an unwavering McDonut supporter.
He did ok last night to be fair to him. A few poor passes particularly one from a scrum and a few times he rushed up in defence and left a gap behind him but generally was enthusiastic, defended well and made good ground plus a nice touch finder in 2nd half. Well done to him.
Headless chicken and not Leeds standard tho unfortunately.
The signing of Aiton must be concerned about Parcell injury.

Easily Dwyer's best performance but lets not kid ourselves most of his previous outings have been poor where Golding as a reserve fullback off the bench had outplayed him.

| Think that was Dwyer "why are you signing a busted Paul Aiton when you have me" performance last night.

| Hello Rhinos Fans. I just want to express amazement that you seem to be signing the perpetually injured Paul Aiton.Rather than use Aiton we have been employing a second row to spell Mcilorum .I don't know how you have got into your present predicament-though I have not been impressed with your forwards- but best of luck for the rest of the season .One thing for certain as we found out last year is that you need to be in good form going into the middle eights or it will be an awful experience for the fans

Walker should not have been MOM or anywhere near it last night in perhaps his worst display so far. But he is flavour of the month for many commentators who view him through the 'Kings New Clothes' spectacles.
He is a talent and a great prospect but his overall performances is not living up to the superstar mantra. His defense is not as good as Golding's who makes fewer errors and more tackles and has better positional sense. Last night his effort to defend Wakefield's first try was woeful and he was out of position when Moon slipped for an other of their tries. He also spilled the ball several times in the game but that can happen to anyone especially at fullback. However for a player who has good attacking skills he has not been fulfilling his promise.
In the 16 matches he has played in this year he has only made a total of 4 clean breaks and 35 tackle busts and when returning kicks he has got an all too predictable sidestep as he goes into contact which is easily dealt with so he has now got into the habit of crabbing sideways looking for a gap. He is a brave lad but I fear for his safety as his kick return sidestep attracts too many head high tackles.
As he develops physically he will become more effective on his kick returns but may lose some pace. In the meantime, and with Moon so ineffective, I would like to see him get an extended run at stand off where his speed and sidestep could provide the missing spark our attack so desperately needs.

100% true. The Loiners are choosing to ignore that one.

Disagree with your assessment of Dwyer - he's looked good every time I've seen him on Sky.
Also disagree on Walker. I don't think there's much to choose between him and Golding defensively. Walker could make a good stand-off but not sure now is the right time to experiment. Walker has certainly shown more than Golding in past performances on attack, and he is also younger.

| Thought Jack was pretty poor last night to be honest. However, how anyone with half a brain cell can see Golding as the same level is just ridiculous. Golding is absolutely nowhere near as good defensively, forget attack, defensively. He is constantly caught out position wise, and constantly having the team dropping out. We don’t have that same issue with Walker, even though he wasn’t up to usual last night.
I thought Golding had been making a damn good job of impact hooker previously, but last night the side really suffered with his Introduction, although I thought the lad gave good enthusiasm.

Why?
On Walker he wasn’t mom but he was nowhere near as bad as some are making out, people cant cry out for youngsters to be given a go and then moan when they make a few errors

What's the point of a video ref. Clearly knocked on then didn't ground the ball anyway - no matter how many times it was reviewed - yet the on field decision of an unsighted ref carried more weight. I'm sick of this on field decision rubbish. It's a try or it's not a try. If the on field official has to have it reviewed then he clearly is guessing to begin with.
It's also worth noting that the two points that drew them level came after Walker had the ball punched out of his arms and should have been a Leeds penalty. But of course if Ferres hadn't given away yet another dumb penalty that wouldn't have mattered.

Enthusiastic and committed. And the only Leeds player who actually reacted when the drop goal hit the post. Loads of energy as well. He will go well - still only 18, bags of pace and the right attitude. Made mistakes but he looks the sort who will learn from them.

No width in our attack at all second half, all bunched in the middle. Typical of a team with no confidence.
