| Quote: Sal Paradise "Brian owed Leeds a huge debt of gratitude - the club and the players it developed made him look a far better coach than he actually is.
There is only one person to bring in short term - Kevin Sinfield, it wont happen as he has burnt his bridges with GH'"
Sinfield has never once shown an interest in coaching, quite the opposite.

| Quote: rollin thunder "People keep saying Sinfield, but he has stated often enough to that he has no interest in being a coach, not going to happen.
Somebody mentioned Jason Demetriou, that's a very good call. Could be a the next super star coach, done his apprenticeship well.'"
Sinfield gives a dimension that Demetriou can't i.e. an understanding of what is required in really big games - Leeds needs some inspiration from someone who has been in the trenches and won the war - Demetriou may well be a longer term plan but he isn't a man for the here and now.
Players need to respect the voice and believe it - what has Demetriou got on that score - he's coached some second grade teams to win a meaningless competition in Australia. Very average player in his time in SL

| For me a good coaching team would be Tony Smith and Rob Burrow but then if you take Rob from the Academy you need to find a successor? I’d also find a spot for Chev Walker . TS to mentor both with a view of developing a long term successor. I keep hearing we have good coaches in the background at Leeds can none of these be developed alongside a mentor type personality?

That is not what is needed right now - what is needed is inspiration and belief - Sinfield dragged those and many of the players still there to heights they never believed possible.
Head coaching isn't about technical skill - which is why Kear has never reached the heights its about people management - something Sinfield is pretty obviously pretty good at.
Your a football man - why was Ferguson such a good coach - why is Bennett held in such high regard etc.

Which sadly is why you will never see him involved at Leeds ever again

Long term definitely - but short term something needs to change and quick and that is where Sinfield comes in - been there done it - led a group of men to the promised land - a brothel in Delph
Leeds need a quick fix - not a coaching guru - it takes too long, Smith's back to basics would take the rest of the season on the pre-season - it simply wont work

| It would be foolish for Sinfield to ever coach Leeds, even if he was interested. After his reputation as a player, it could only get worse after entering the fray as a coach. Just look at Cunningham at Saints.

Different quality of individual - this is a short-term measure until a proper coach is appointed.
It will never happen - GH is a typical Yorkshireman - if you upset them there is no coming back sadly the worst trait of most Yorkshiremen - stubborness

| No, it wouldn’t happen because he’d have no credentials or interest in coaching.

| Does Sol Paradise just make stuff up? This black/white stuff of grudges and aggrievement bears very little relationship to the reality of how the grown ups involved actually behave.

Absolutely. I can also see Sinfield (who, again, has no interest in coaching) going back to a leeds team in free fall to possibly (small chance though it may be) over see their relegation to tarnish the legacy. Sounds like the musings of a teenage fan.

| I'm sure Brian could shout and inspire. in fact he definitely could. he could coach defensive or attacking shape though and that's what we need right now. some leadership.
