| What a difference a week makes.
It's imperative for our chances that Hall, Parcell, Cuthbertson & Ward stay injury free.
A word of praise too for Thaler.
He stamped out most messing around at the PTB, consequently we got a much faster, free-flowing game.
Finally massive credit must go the ground staff for producing such a magnificent surface.
IMV the most entertaining & enjoyable match I've seen live this season.
Let's hope we can keep it up

| Wigan are a very 'street-smart' side. They push the boundries and test the rules, they can spoil and niggle, and push the rules about as far as they possibly can.
For the first 25 minutes last night we were on top, then we saw two or three opportunities slowed down and spoilt and we didnt get over the line, when Wigan had a spell, 10 points wasnt all that much and Wigan had weathered the storm and gone in even. It had all the hallmarks of one of those games where Wigan kept it close and ground out a win when we had plenty of opportunity to win.
Then we came out in the 2nd half and simply didnt give them a sniff. We kept on top in defence, offloaded well, and the backs began to cut through.
All in all a really good performance that ended the hopes of one of only 2 other sides who know what is needed to win a GF.

| Best Leeds performance for quite some time. There was bite and eagerness about the defence, and speed and skill in the attack. Shame it was a week too late, but let's hope they can play like that for the rest of the year, because iff they can, who knows how far it could go.

| Best Leeds performance in a long time, after McD in his own words 'left them to get on with it for most of the week'. Quite damning evidence really.

| Or you could say....great bit of management. Let the players, whom he trusts, make a response themselves, which they did. "In his own words", he went for a drink with Wardy, Cuthbo and a few other team members after the defeat to Hull and talked as blokes "Not coach and players" and listened to them talk of the disappointment of losing the game and how much it hurt. I admire that and think it shows that Macca really cares about his charges.

| Mcdermot said he got the sense the players wanted to be left alone for the week until game day,and so nothing much was done. I dont give a sh#t how any numpty tries to twist it, that's just excellent coaching.
Being able to know your players and read the mood. For all we know if mcdermot had tried to coach this week with endless reviews and drills, the players could have been exhausted mentally and put in a flat performance.

but ...but some on here would have you believe he is an arrogant so and so who rules with an iron fist, is distant from his players and is that stubborn only his views count.

| It is quite noticeable that with a couple of exceptions most of those that were so quick off the mark to blame Mac for last weeks bad performance have been a bit slow out of the blocks this week to commend him for this weeks excellent performance. Funny that!

But when returning ball he carried well and looked to take a forward step in the right direction.

Well we've had the whole range of accusations thrown at McDermott over his time. That's obviously discounting the unnecessary personal attacks such as calling him an idiot or McDonut etc.
Quite how a coach can be so utterly stupid and stubborn to discount all other views or opinions while threatening and intimidating some players and also be so passive and uninvolved as to allow those same players to take all aspects of training I just don't know.

| Does anyone else think that when Golding runs at full speed he always looks like he's about to stumble over and lose balance? Just an observation.

Mmmmm....are you calling Macca stupid? Your post is a little ambiguous. I realise their is a split of Macca out/ Macca in thing going on. No problem with that at all......difference of of opinion keeps the board vibrant. But to call the guy stupid is ignorant and offensive. If you have legitimate proof that he intimidates and threatens players, let's hear it. If not.....u know the rest.

Yeah think he could have run him down with a longer hypotenuse.

| Interesting comments from Barrie Mac on commentary that Sutcliffe's best position is right centre. Not sure if he was referring to his junior days or his favourite position. If memory serves he used to defend on the right when playing in the halves in 2015.
