Quote: Ferdy "To be fair most of it was all handbags don't think MM was too bad. The only one who might be in trouble for me is Bateman. Not got too much sympathy as bailey didn't run in to assist peacock he just ran for Bateman. The bit that for me was bad was the Bateman gouging for the eyes of bailey. But he does knock around home wood so what do yo exspect'"

Bateman an ran straight in and hit bailey from behind for once Bailey was hard done to

Wigan deserved the win on the balance of play. Out-enthused Leeds who underperformed for the first 60 and offered nothing much down the right without Watkins and Briscoe there.

That said, Leeds should have stolen it as am nowhere near convinced Moon knocked on for the late try.

Thaler dealt with the biff ok, but Dudson was a clear sinbin before that and Crosby really really lucky not to get sent off for the tip tackle.

I think Crosby and Dudson may get bans and rightly so.

McIlorum's tackle wasn't anywhere near as bad as Peacock's later in the second half.'"

What didn't help mcclorum was that the ref just 15 seconds before had told him to calm his side down, he's obviously not got much in the brain department

MM was a high shot, but don't think it was that bad to get a yellow IMO.
Re gouging just my initial reaction just as they are separating up on the ground Bateman has one hand ragging round baileys face. Don't think he will have been moping bhis brow. If I am wrong fair enough will watch it back at some point just my initial thought.

Good win for Wigan. We were poor for the vast majority but had plenty enough ball to win the game, but our execution was extremely off. Missed Watkins big time, but can't complain when they had a load out.

Moon and hall by far our best tonight imo

To be fair, he was hindered by being educated in Leeds. icon_wink.gif

now BJB has decided his future lies elsewhere I see no reason to keep rotating the wingers on a regular basis to keep all happy.I thought he was quite poor today although not the only one.we certainly missed the threat of Watkins.

He's from seacroft so probably not a lot of education involved

This game to me showed how important watkins is to leeds. Numerous occasions throughout leeds could have done damage down the right if watkins had been in sutcliffes position and there would have been a try down that side in the first half if watkins had been in some of the situations sutcliffe was.

I agree on Watkins been important, but think the failings tonight were more down to playing Sutcliffe there than Watkins missing. When we switched Ablett there we looked much better, just to prove the point.

agreed.couldnt help but think the amount of times we went right side in the first half I wish we did that more often when watkins was playing.he is our big attacking weapon for sure.

He was awful today and not that he got much ball but that was easily the worst performance i've seen from him. Did he even take one high ball in?

He was awful against Cas too, he nearly lost us that match on his own. The fact he scored 2 tries only covered for the mistakes he made.

He's a Yorkshire Ade Gardner, and isn't good enough to play for Leeds Rhinos. Briscoe should have the number 2 jersey sewn up, and Duckworth & Minns can provide cover for next year.

Thought Thaler handled the situation well and was right to bin the three.
Thought Dudson should have been binned for a well late hit from behind on McGuire.
Wigan forwards out played the Leeds pack and the fact it took us so long to score with all that pressure in the first half was the difference.
I said on the Wigan board this game might be a bridge too far after 3 intense game prior to this one.
Leeds had enough ball the same as they did against Saints and still couldn't score.
Is Sutcliffe really that slow? Bateman for me is also pretty average who believes his own hype.

For me briscoe is just as good a finisher as BJB, but we really miss his go forward and winning the collision. When BJB runs the ball up I always exspect him to be driven back and slow PTB. With briscoe you always fancy he will at least find his front and make some yards.

No brainer unless there is an injury no need to have BJB in the team. What's the point in rotating wingers, unless there is injury.
