We've accounted for 2 of them, and it's actually 4 out of 8, not 2 out of 6.

| Quote: FlexWheeler "Only 3 times have teams finishing top lost the first game and go on to win the Grand final. Out of 14 play series. 2 of those were under the format weighted heavier in favour of the top team. (saints 2002, leeds 2004 and wigan 2010).'"
But the number of teams who have lost, often very heavily, in the play offs and then come back to win the final is rather larger:
Saints 1999
Saints 2002
Leeds 2004
Leeds 2007
Leeds 2008
Wigan 2010
So a defeat isn't a complete disaster by any means. But you need to have a fair amount of balls (or luck, like Wigan 2010) to come back from it.

I haven't voted yet.
Should I vote for Saints?

Deepends how you now interpret the question.

| Quote: Superted "Well.... What a surprise! When faced with a team who don't crumble after 15 mins of pressure, Hudds begin to panic and fall to pieces. They can't live with the top teams when it comes to close, high intensity games. They're used to racking up big scores against the Salfords, Wakeys and regular season Leeds with a start like that.
Danny Brough returned to his usual rabbit in the headlights, head shaking, 'everyone else's fault' that always happens when he's up against a good, organised and fired up defence. He's not got the temperament for good, hard, close games, where his forwards aren't completely dominent.'"
Didn't so much crumble this time, but the point still stands - Hudds (and star man Brough) are great at hammering the cannon fodder (see Hull last week), but don't have the nouse or composure in a tough, close, high intensity game.
They're alot better than the majority, but not quite good enough to live with the top dogs come business end of the year - as pretty much everyone said whilst they were patting themselves on the back for 'winning' the LLS.

| Never mind eh?
Plenty of Hudds fans calling themselves Champions...just like Warrington did last year, and Wigan the year before
It's not about finishing first....it's about finishing when it matters.
Warrington looked good enough last night to beat Hudds, but will need to raise their game next week...whoever their opponents are (hopefully Leeds)

| Actually, I'd have said the biggest threat to our Super League Crown was Leeds based on the number of times we needlessly gave possession away in a game that was always likely to be won by the team that played the percentages better...
Good luck in the final next week, as I used to live in a Warrington postcode I will be supporting you. Fortunately I'm back on the "right" side of the pennines again these days.

I just don't see Wigan as a threat. Tomkins & Charnley (arguably) aside, which Wigan player is better than their Leeds (or Wire or Shudds) opposite? Taylor at sub is the only other Wigan player I rate, with O'L being injured.
Keep it up TT

"Top Dogs", you are having a laugh. I think you will find we are well above Leeds having beat you easy 3 times this season, one of those being the CC, and we have both gone out in the same round of the play-offs, Giants to the second placed club and Leeds to the fourth placed club.
I think we have more silverware than the Rhinos.

3 or 4 games at the end of the season is just pot luck not champion material.
For me league leaders are champions after 27 rounds, and the play-offs should be for the SKY trophy which it is, as they shift us about from Monday nights to Thursday and Friday nights just to suit their schedules.

| One decent season and Huddersfield seem desperate to cling to it already. Give it a couple more, you might win something that people actually care about.
Your team did well to finish top of the qualifying league, but ultimately failed when it came to the business end of the season. I'm sure you can build on this and maybe do better next year.
All this 'we are the true Champions!' stuff just sounds like sour grapes.

I still fear wigan. I've got a bad feeling they'll limp through to the final. Beat huddersfield tonight, then they have a home game to the final. They'd be a tough nut to crack in the final if we played them.'"
My fear was justified
I just didn't expect the club call to pit us against them in the eliminator.
