| Players backing up
Half a dozen starters out injured
This game has banana skin written all over it. Games like this are imperative to win if leeds are to attain a decent league placing, can't do it from 5th every year.

| Due to our current injury crisis i am now looking forward to Monday's game more so than i would have been had we had a fully fit squad to choose from
Sometimes adversity can have a positive effect on a club, I hope that during our current injury situation we can give opportunities to our top academy players as it may take such an injury situation like ours at present to be able to realize that these players are good enough to move our club forward when our more senior players retire
If players like Baldwinson and Tonks etc don't get a shot when these opportunities arise then it wont be long before we lose them to SL clubs that will, or in the case of another promising academy player we let go last year in Dan Smith they will go overseas to Australia

| From the club websiteSuper League Champions Leeds Rhinos are to be honoured by their home city by being given the prestigious Leeds Award.
The Headingley Carnegie club has been nominated for its active role in the local community as well as the on-field success which has seen them win five of the last six Grand Finals and also been crowned World Club Champions three times in the last eight years. The award will be presented on the Headingley Carnegie pitch prior to Mondays Super League clash with Widnes Vikings. The Lord Mayor and Chief Executive of Leeds City Council will present the award to Club President Harry Jepson OBE, Chief Executive Gary Hetherington, Head Coach Brian McDermott, captain Kevin Sinfield and former players Keith Senior and Barrie McDermott who were instrumental across the past decade.'"
Perhaps they know Sinfield won't be playing?

| For me, the fact that we have so many out is making me feel more interested in this game than if it was any other game against Widnes (no disrespect meant). I think it'll be a competitive one that we could lose and ill be interested to see how the younger guys go.

Same here. And it's a good mid-season rest for Sir Kev, leaving him fresh for the play-offs and the World Cup.

So it's a good mid season rest when a player is injured and enforced absence? But when a planned rest is suggested and the coach criticised for not doing, the coach is right and we need momentum?
What a total hypocrite.

That's good news Seth, I can't wait to see how he handles the step up to first team level as ideally it would have been better him being introduced into a more settled side but sadly that's not the case, But I'm sure he'll do well

| So, Sutcliffe should now get a good run of games in his usual position of Stand off.Sinfield is almost never injured and us having both half backs out at the same time is something we have rarely had to contend with of late. What an opportunity the young lad now has ,that has not presented itself to other youngsters in recent years in that position.Could be fate. Look forward to seeing him take the chance with both hands.

The nerve of it. Totally agree with Gotcha...you're a bluddy hypocrite.
Changes when [iforced [/ito is not a good thing. No doubt when these young guns come good you'll be one of the first to jump on the 'well done McDermott bandwaggon' for introducing them at the right time. Sheesh.
