| Didn't think Sinfield would get the award but I'm really pleased for him, he's been a credit to the sport.

| Well done and much deserved - by far the captain in the SL
Much is made of Cameron Smith and his achievements this year - but he plays in a dominant side, with the best coach and in Billy Slater possibly the finest player of his generation and possibly the greatest FB to ever play the game. If Cameron Smith were playing for Cronulla would he win the golden boot?
Is Sinfield any less deserving than Minichello!!
What criteria do you use to decide who is the best in world - the likes of Paul Gallen/Nathan Hindmarsh in the past will never get this award but there can few better players in any position. The award is dominated by backs why?

| Their's a list on the Wigan board of better 13's in the world than Sinfield. O'Loughlin is named amongst them. Oh dear

As many have argues on the VT the award should be for best player not most entertaining player (Minichello I would guess won it for being entertaining). Martyn Sadler has also posted on their and said if it was an award for most entertaining player then you'd probably have a Barba, Tomkins and Slater as the top 3 but its not.
This summed it up pretty well to me...

| Do i agree with it, no but do i begrudge him getting this award, certainly not.
Fantastic pro, consistent and an absolute linchpin in the recent successes of the last decade, if this was decided based on a lifetimes achievement then i would agree with it 100%

In what sense of the word. How does one define "best". Kev is the best "big game" performer in SL. His record in the matches that count is awsome and his never say die performance in the GF is typical of the man. Why shouldn't someone get recognition for being (without question) the best captain in world rugby. I haven't read anywhere that this award is called "the worlds most exciting RL player 2012".

| The vast majority of Wigan fans, like this chap above are quite simply the biggest bunch of gaping ar$e holes ever produced.
the fact Leeds stopped them getting to any major final last season totally discredits the weak argument the poster clings to and proves my inital point completely.

If Leeds' premier loose (Ryan Bailey) isn't on the list then I'd question their commitment.
While Sinfield retained squad number 13 at Leeds in 2012 I presume even the Wigan fans noticed he played at stand-off for the entirety of last season both domestically and Internationally?
Forwards rarely win this particlar award and Sinfield was smart enough to realise that switching positions was a requirement to achieve overdue world wide recognition coincidentally with the absence of a credible International programme this year.

| The only good thing that I see from this sort of random awards thingy is that when their own players don't win anything it annoys the hell out of Wigan supporters, and Australians.
For that alone, this is a good thing.

| Wiganers & Aussies must be the most well-balanced folk on earth, they have a chip on both shoulders.

| Looks like a lot of pies, loiners my dads bigger than yours posting.
Well from a Wakey fan well done Sinfield.
He deserves a life time award in recognition of what he has done for his club.
Golden boot player of the year
If it went on individual flair over the season then Tomkins would not win it as good as he can be at times.
It should go to the most consistant player over the whole season who does the most for his club well it would come down to one player Cameron Smith though Sinfield would be very close its just that Smith did it all season long for me.
O`Loughlin I like as a player but 10 times better well thats miles out given the choice as to who I would go for if I wanted them in my team Sinfield would win hands down.
Lets not forget this was a judgement by a panel and not one person`s thoughts so I will say again as much as it pains me hes a Leeds player "Well done Kevin"
