Having no leaks so far on this rumoured "big name" signing is unusual. In most cases the Aus media break the story but nothing so far. But there was no leak when we signed Achurch.

So are you saying his signing was made [imonths[/i before its announcement ? Why so ?? That seems to be the suggestion here......and again it seems highly unlikely that such "big news" could be kept quiet for such a long period of time.

Wouldn't call ACHURCH a big signing though. He may be good and a great signing for us, but would him signing for Leeds really be big news in Aus

I heard a rumour 2/3 months ago about a quality back from NRL and I think so did Gotcha but no names mentioned. Sometimes this happens, I remember the signing of Buderus was made public about 6 mths after it was completed and also there were no leaks. An early signing is often made because of circumstances but remains confidential to protect the player who is still playing for his old club. However in most cases news does leak out. If a signing has indeed been made then GH and everybody involved has done a good job keeping it silent. It will be announced when our season ends!

I'd be happy with Robbie Farah and Jamie Lyon.

That may well be because most people have never heard of Achurch, so it wouldn't have been much fun to leak.

True - Phil Gould did mention in commentary a few weeks ago that apparently Achurch is being paid 'big money' to move to Leeds - lets hope he delivers value for his 'big money'.

Brent Tate would be a big plus for me - over his injury problems and has been excellent for the Cowboys this year - he'd demolish the awful outside backs in Superleague.

I think Brent Tate would be a great signinng but he's contracted to the Cowboys for 2013.

We don't think you're ready to occupy the (overall) most important position on the field and we can't go into another season like we did this one perhaps?



Contracted player's leaving may still require settlements which are included in cap calculations. Early release may not free up much room. In any case on a broader point supporters who think they've got an inkling on how much of the permitted cap Leeds actually spend are either naive or delusional, IMO - no offence intended.

How old is Brent Tate now? Is he still any good? Super player last time I watched the NRL, but I'm going back 3 years or so. Also, he seemed to have moved fairly permanently to the wing at that point, so I'm not all that sure he's still a centre?

Just out of interest, David Fa'alogo, Scott Moore, Ross Peltier, Adam Walker and Tommy Lee are leaving Huddersfield Giants, which IMO would assume that Shaun Lunt will be returning to Huddersfield.

Tate is 30, for the last 2 seasons he's played in the centres and this season along with Jamie Lyon has been the form centres in the NRL. He also appears to be over his injuries. Still plays SOO and for Aus so this might be a stumbling block.
