I think that Senior would bring something to the attack, but from memory he was severely lacking in his defensive qualities last season, and this is an area where Hardaker has looked reasonably good, despite people's initial fears. I think he could do a job as an impact player for us, whether at second row or at centre, and I think the club are interested, but its whether senior can tie up a better deal somewhere else

Keith wants to come back to the Rhinos. If we express an interest as Fans, then it might sway his decision to come back.

His Twitter is the best forum to do this.

Is Senior actually recovered from his knee injury yet?

If not, given that Watkins is out for 4 weeks, he wouldn't be the best short-term replacement would he?

Accord to this Articlehttps://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/rugbyleague/article-2138014/Keith-Senior-hoping-make-Super-League-return.htmlrl

He should be ready for full training around now.

Quote: Andy Gilder "How long do you think it would take Senior to get to anything like his pre-injury form and fitness? The season will most probably be over by that point. Presumably he'd need to play in the 20s first, denying game time to the next generation in that position.'"

I've no idea.

All I am saying is I wouldn't readily dismiss the idea of having a quick look at him on the right terms.

A one legged half fit Senior is still streets ahead of the likes of Shenton and Welham and, sadly, at this moment in time, Hardaker when it comes to playing centre.

Which element of centre? Breaking tackles? I'm not so sure. Passing to his winger? Definintely an improvement.
Strength in defence? Maybe Mobility in defence? Definintely not.

I'd still be interested to see what he had to offer on the right deal, but I don't think its a dead certainty that he'd be more effective all round than Hardaker

All of them.

Hardaker is doing a very poor job in the centre position. In fact, he's been getting worse, not better, as the season progresses.

It's hard to imagine Senior, with all of his experience could be less effective as a centre, IMO.

I agree that he's doing worse as the season goes on. I disagree that Senior would be better in all facets. I beleive that Hardakers mobility & speed would be better, in both defence and attack, and that he'd break more tackles than senior albeit by using footwork rather than power. He's probably give away fewer penalties too.

However, he doesn't have the old head and nouse that senior does, or the ability to pass to Hall.

fair enough. We wouldn't know definitively unless we gave him a shot and we both seem to agree that, on the right terms, there's not much to lose in doing that.

Completely agree. If you look at freeze frames of Senior Attacking the Line from last year, there is genuine fear in the face of most players he runs at. This is Reputation and Respect for his ability and Power. This in turn sucks in the defense and creates indecision in the minds of the defense allowing Keith to use one of the skills from his massive box of tricks.

Hardaker, unfortunately, is just dealt with.

Agreed. Pay as you play. Get him training, and see what his physical levels are, then test him in a match. It could be that 12 months out of the game have allowed the rest of his body to heal and strengthen so we may see a better version than we did in 2011
