You probably thought it. A few wins on the bounce is unchartered territory for bulls in recent years.

| These threads can make some people look very silly!!
Some people predicted London to be in the playoffs!!
Most people predicted Saints top and nobody said Wigan would be top!!

I don't think anyone looks silly.
It's a pre-season predication with no prior knowledge of how any of the teams are going to perform throughout the year - that's the idea.
Oh - and my predication from page 1 Wigan Warriors
2. St. Helens
3. Warrington Wolves
4. Leeds Rhinos
5. Huddersfield Giants
6. Catalans Dragons
7. Hull FC
8. London Broncos
9. Hull KR
10. Bradford Bulls
11. Castleford Tigers
12. Salford City Reds
13. Wakefield Trinity Wildcats
14. Widnes Vikings

4. Leeds Rhinos (5) -1
5. Huddersfield Giants (6) -1

| - I thought Leeds could get 4th possibly 3rd depending on how Saints went and if they hadn't of taken the rare RL step of sacking a coach quite early then we would be above them.
- I did however think Castleford might get the 8th spot, i thought the experience of just missing out last year and a narrow CC Semi defeat would stand them in good stead this year, oooops.
- I don't anybody could predict that Bradford's season was going to pan out the way it has.
- Wakey and Widnes have done well recently with squads that were built from stratch.
- London were always going to struggle whilst Rob Powell remained coach.
- Thought Wane might make a few mistakes in his first year which would cost Wigan top spot to Wire,(might still happen) but most crucially that x factor of injuries has knocked them recently with everybody seeing that Tommy Leuluai is probably Wigan's most important player.
- One of the 2 new coaches over in Hull was going to disappoint, opted for Sandercock at KR.
Wire
Wigan
Leeds
Saints
Hudds
Catalans
Hull
Cas
Salford
KR
Bradford
Wakey
London
Widnes

Not true on either statement.
Twenty eight (2icon_cool.gif posters predicted Warrington would finish top, (15 - St Helens , 5 - Leeds (although one entry disqualified leaving 4) and 2 went for Wigan (Fat Boy and finglas)
Besides which the season isn't over yet and the majority view could still prevail.
PS, Don't worry folks I haven't just wasted time compiling that list - that time was already wasted back in February.
__________
Re-London qualifying for the play-offs, (1 entry placed them seventh, 3 in eigth from the 49 entries submitted) given that they were one of the few to allegedly be spending up to the cap limit this season I don't think it was that unreasonable to think they were going to fare better than they have to this point.

With one day to go and only the wooden spoon to be confirmed on it's way to Naughton Park - as was - I think there's a possibility Old Feller may have handed down his 6th sense. 16 points (tbc) will be tough to beat judging by last season's scores. Looks like the 'kudos' could well be staying in the family for another year.

| 1) All entries must contain 14 unique and/or clearly identifiable teams
2) Scoring System: Correct position scores 0, 1 away from correct position scores 1, 2 away scores 2 etc
The aim is to achieve the lowest score. Tie-Break simplification from that used last year - All tied scores placed in date entry order.
Any mistakes highlighted will be corrected once checked.
Beyond that any problems - keep them to yourself, it's just for fun.
__________
So here are the results, listed by score and date of entry order where results are tied. 54 entries were scored but 1 entry had to be excluded as it contained two Bradfords and no Salford.
If you entered this season - well done, have a look how you got on and please enter again next season when the thread appears. The more the merrier.

Winner: rhinochris
Most correct predictions: Highbury Rhino with 6
The only poster to correctly call the eight teams that would eventually enter the play-offs was lionarmour87
The single biggest wide of the mark prediction award goes to ant1 for his optimistic Castleford to finish in 5th call.
The combined Southstander SL Table would have looked like this: (out of a possible 53)
1 - Warrington (30)
2 - St Helens (23)
3 - Wigan (20)
4 - Leeds (19)
5 - Les Catalans (2icon_cool.gif
6 - Huddersfield (27)
7 - Hull FC (1icon_cool.gif
8 - Hull KR (27)
9 - Bradford (15)
10 - Castleford (17)
11 - London (16)
12 - Salford (20)
13 - Wakefield (21)
14 - Widnes (39)

| When does next season's competition start, I've got some catching up to do....
Btw, if ant1 got the widest of the mark award, how bad was G1 to be level on points with that....

| Pfft that league is too uncompetitive, we'll never beat the Aussies like this. I propose that all those who scored 24 or more are jettisoned into a 2nd division.
