Exactly.
Why some opposition "fans" feel they have to score points when a lad suffers a 2 break serious facial injury is beyond me.
After the shock last night and her vow never to watch again, my wife now appreciates more than ever the skill bravery and commitment of the sport. As a late convert to the game she now instead says she will never again support the overpaid prima donnas of football.
She sends Luke a big kiss and wishes him a speedy recovery. I will omit the former but concur on the latter.

| I don't think a lot of the chanting that takes place during an injury stoppage is intended to be malicious, more a way of restoring normality during what could be a potentially serious event. If it was malicious, it would be targetted at the injured player - which I can't recall having heard at an RL game.

Very sloppy technique from Walker, I really hope Lukes ok, even if he doesn't make the final his well being should be paramount.
By far my favourite prop in Super League- He'll be coming to Wakie when I win the Euro Millions!!!!
(In my opinion that was a dangerous challenge)'"
Having watched the replay a couple of times, a purely accidental clash, no malice and Walker could have done himself some seroius injury, as for Burgess, a shame he will miss the CC final, but RL is a hard game played by hard and brave men. Good luke with the Recovery Luke....

Well said rhinoms, 2 props colliding, could have gone the other way and walker getting smashed.
I wish luke burgess a speedy recovery.

| I dont wish bad on anybody Rhinos player or not and wish Biffa the speediest of recoveries, however I dont think he should be in our strongest 17 so i dont consider it to be a big blow, for me his ball retention is not good enough and I think Ambler is a better player based on this season. I am more concerned on how peacock is.

| It was a big collision. Nothing malicious and no intent. It may have been a little silly on the part of Walker but maybe some inexperience there. The thing i didnt like was when it was clear Burgess was hurt a couple of the Cas players including Walker were dancing like they had just won the match. That was very disrespectful to Luke Burgess and seemed to show little concern for him.
Get well soon Biffa!!!

| Looking at the contact only, without taking into account the injury it was a good hit, and one which is entertaining for the fans. I have no problem with shoulder charges having given a few out and received a few more. They can be very good to lift a team, force a mistake or intimidate your opposition. Some players do them more than others SBW being one of the main, but they present a big risk to both the tackler and the tackled player.
Also, I have no problem with Walker bouncing after the hit, he made a good effective tackle and forced a knock on. We do exactly the same, and there is no way he could have known straight away that Burgess was badly injured.
As for the injury, its a nasty looking one, and a shame for the lad to miss the final. Hopefully he'll get to play in a few more in his career

46042.jpg [quote="Bonzo":23qz4bj5]Corrected.
Incidentally, an exclamation mark ends a sentence and does not require a full stop. The first letter of the next word begins a new sentence and should therefore be capitalised. [i:23qz4bj5]Who needs flankers[/i:23qz4bj5]' grammar was actually correct.
HTH.

| Get well soon Luke. Nasty one.
As for the "Do it to Senior" chant, the only thing I can say is this one was an accident
Keith Senior breaking BJMs jaw in the Sheffield V Cas challenge cup match was deliberate!

| I do have a problem with the tackle...well the hit actually in so far as the timing off it 2 minutes form the end.... what was he trying to achieve ????
As I have said previously the Cas players had a certain mindset in those last 10 minutes IMHO. Its a hard full contact game so therefore no complaints really but I do believe what goes around comes around.

The head clash was clearly accidental but IMHO there was a certain intent.

| I hope he's fit for leeds in the final but being honest after looking at the pic of him, he's got no chance of playing.
Shame as it's tough on the players missing out on finals.
IMHO i don't think the was anything wrong with the tackle, he went in for the big hit and clashed heads, nothing any of them coulkd do.

Did he break his jaw? I don't remember that. I remember him knocking Mather's out with one of the best punches ever thrown on a rugby field, but I don't remember his jaw being broken.
Have I remembered wrong? It was a long time ago now, and I'm not as young as I used to be...
