| It does worry me that we can play this badly so often now. I know we have players out and those coming back this week have had lengthy layoffs and need to get up to speed, but our defence is the worst it's been for many years. Points conceded, even in victory, have been way too high. We should be able to match a determined team with a good kicking game, with determination and a good kicking game of our own , but two comfortable defeats in the last 4 games by teams below us does not bode well.
Having said that, I feel for the coaching staff. It's been next to impossible to get any momentum going due to medium term injuries. When you get so many players having 4-12 weeks off like we have had this year (and losing Watkins permenantly this year, who I think would have been challenging Smith at FB at the moment), it's been difficult for us to settle into any type of pattern. Losing Buderus and Eastwood, just as they show up took away any momentum from last week and the Warrington game.
On the plus side, this year has given opportunity to a number of the young players in the forwards to get valuable experience in the first team and given the coaches a chance to assess the likes of Pitts, Ambler, McShane, Clarkson, Coady, Armor etc. Pitts, Ambler and Clarkson clearly look like guys who could be easing their way to regular status in the next few seasons, like JJB, Ablett, etc have done in the past. McShane has not impressed me at all, and the re-signing of Buderus to play alongside Diskin makes it obvious that the coaches aren't thrilled with him either.
Let's hope Hull slip up against Wakey, the Derby game on Humberside looks like it could be a cracker as well.
Last nights result completes one of my most miserable weeks. Things can only get better..

Eastwood must have shown him Mrs Miggins's Pie shop. He seems to have lost all his speed

So of the 5 three quarters that were missing which one would replace Fox and where would you play the other 4 in the 3 positions left?
You were missing 4 at best so that argument is bollox.

But he's been under the tutelage of Buderus for the last 18 months. That's what i've been led to believe anyway.

Amen to that.
On a more positive note for the game at large three of the previously regarded big four defeated on the same night provides amply evidence that the order still has churn in it late in to the season. The only exception last night and this season generally is Wigan who (with no Challenge Cup distraction) should at least make it to Old Trafford and deservedly so on the evidence so far. Having said that the Play-Off format is a dog where one below par performance in week 1 could turn their season upside down.
A Harlequins side (containing only one antipodean) defeating the once SL flagship Bulls, the 'mighty s' going down at home to a side created four seasons ago who are currently propping up the league and Hull KR completing a league double over Leeds RL for the first time in 25 seasons while also inflicting coach McClennan's first defeat in Hull and Leeds' first defeat at the hands of Alibert.
It's taken a while to get here but the days of the better teams (on paper) just turning up putting in a poor performance and still getting a win are diminishing which can only be good for the game.

Thing is though, we were awful, Hull KR were escellent yet we still had enough chances to win it.

we had a fullback and a wigan reserve playing his first superleague game as our centres and a young lad who plays 13 in the reserves (Latus) on the wing so your argument is bollox'"
Don't talk rubbish. Could you have played 4 centres? No.
Just remind us how you would fit these 4 players into the 2 centre positions?
Counting backups as missing players

| What the hell happened to you guys? After beating us, Warrington and Saints all within a few weeks of each other I was calling you the team to beat and a reasonable bet for the double, then you go and get beat by Hull K.R! Was it complacency or just being outplayed?

| For 80 minutes Leeds were the second best side.
However we had enough scoring chances to win the game, which is a lift.
5 chances - that could have earned us 30 possible points.
- McGuire - double movement. If the replay hadn't have been avaiable it would have been given.
- Bailey - Peacock put him away, he should have controlled and scored.
- Ablett - just short, should have gone over from there.
- Hall x 2 - the butter fingers!! He usually scores those regulation scores. He looked like he wanted to kick himself.
So without any control in the game, we could have won it. I thought we made lots of yards out wide and looked dangerous. We just couldn't find the end product.
McShane and Kirke wound me up last night with some weak tackling down the middle, even when they had a hold of a KR player it would still take 5/10 metres 'til they were 'downed'.
We really need to step up in defence and turn the screw.
Sinfield's kicking game was awful too, KR's was first class - nice weight on the kicks, forced drop-outs etc. That's where the game was won and lost.
Nice to Burrow carving out our only score, any news on the knock he picked up?
I think Bluey should have brought JJB and Bailey back into the game sooner, we were screaming for some pace and quick play the balls, these 2 are better players in this area down the middle.
We're making life hard for ourselves.
I wonder which Leeds team will turn up next week??

| Nicely summed up bringing a lot of comments already aired all into one place.
