Indeed but he wouldn't make my or I suspect Leeds' first choice 17/18 in 2010 now that Smith has returned so I decided against including him here. Good prospect to have waiting in the wings though.

Nearly went myself. I will always remember the thrill of seeing the Vulcan at Church Fenton back in the late 70's...always a 'thunderous' highlight.
Closest to it since was the pair of Sukhoi 27's at Woodford having to display at low altitude because of low cloud. |

Anotoly Kvochur - the most remarkable fast jet pilot I've witnessed. The arrival for his UK debut is well described here www.airsceneuk.org.uk/oldstuff/a ... natoly.htm
The lowest, slowest, longest wheels up approach I've ever seen. Quite a remarkable sight, by a remarkable man and a remarkable aircraft.
The Woodford display you speak of was immense as he/they created their own eco system. More vapour produced in one day (Anotoly displayed as a pair and also gave a solo display later) then you'd see in a season.

I doubt he would be in the 17 but he would be in before Bush so maybe he could be counted as "missing". |
