I have no time to worry about league position when I'm watching back all the Grand Final glory we have had over the last few years.
3 in a row isn't it?
Imagine following the team that has buckled for the last few years when it really matters??

| I think you'll find it's only 9 1/2 weeks to the game but the Admiral has to consult his Bradshaw to get the best possible deal.
So not much time really.

Are you forgetting the Grattan stadium ?

I agree it's not the end of the World but for once it would be nice to think our ruling body were on the ball and given they knew the dates of the semis at the start of the season and the 4 competing teams 3 days before the draw was made that they'd be able to tell us at the time of the draw.
Some were speculating that the whole reason we were having to wait until today for the draw was so the RFL could sort venues out.
To have to wait until today for a draw that tool all of 5 seconds and then ''venues to be announced'' smacks of kind of mickey mouse.
Why not draw it after the match on the BBC on Sunday when you already have a captive audience?
They did that for the QF draw and years ago all the draws took place after the last TV game.
This year we've had some draws on local radio, one live on the BBC and others on Radio 5 live.
Why not have every round the same?
IMO they should be done live on the TV after the Sunday live game.
Don't get me started on why we have a 'premier' cup competition with 9 weeks between the Semis and the Final

It was to give us empathy with the Bulls fans, standing in the home area watching an inept team crumble in an important game (it didnt work though)

The choice of stadium is key, especially for those that like to see RL played in front of full crowds on free to air tv. i rememeber a couple of seasons ago Hull Vs someone (i clearly dont remember it that well) being played at the Keepmoat stadium. At first there was uproar because of the percieved small scale of the ground, yet it didnt sell out and so the RFL were vindicated in their decision.
Surely the draw defines the stadium, and as people have noted, the semi final weekend is also the first weekend of the next football league season. So there is lots to do.
In regards to the draw itself, i think the BBC have a lot of say where and when, or maybe rather when it wont be drawn.
However i do agree with the last point, 9 weeks between quarter finals and semi finals is far too much, has it always been this long or has leeds' shortcomings in the CC for the past few years meant i havent noticed?

| Leeds Rhinos vs St Helens to be played Saturday 7th August at the Galpharm.
Warrington Wolves vs Catalans Dragons to be played Sunday 8th August with the venue tbc (I think it'll be the Stobart Stadium in Widnes or Paris).

RFL have chalked off Paris, so it's either the Stobart or LSV.
